He'll forever be known as the first goalscorer of the Rodgers era.

If he proves himself he should be given a chance. He will be good to have on the bench as a changer to Brendan's formation during a game.

Kris Commons should be ahead of him in the pecking order on the bench as a 'formation changer' . Just as Ryan Christie should be.

He's had approaching 2 seasons with us.

    He HAS proved himself.

He's proved to us all that he's *.

Him, GMS and Armstrong are all Dundee Utd standard players imo. Not good enough for us.

In this pre-season he's played better than Dembele to be honest. Looked very good last night to be fair to him.

Another guy who shouldn't be here wasn't good enough and everyone except the management team knew it same as a few other players. Have to admit though he has been good when he has been given a chance this pre season

I guess everyone is entitled to their opinion but wow I could not disagree more strongly. I appreciate the effort Ciftci has put into the pre-season games and even when he came on in the first game against Lincoln but he is no where near in the same quality level as Dembele IMHO. Not even close.

Lol. Nope. Ciftci looks about as useful as a chocolate teapot.

I know the days of Henrik, Sutton and Hartson are no more, but for * sake.

Ciftci is, and always will be, Dundee United quality.
Embarrassing that he is our 3rd choice striker, and no amount of running around, or energy on the park will change that.

Better strikers in not only the English Championship, but also the Scottish premiership AND Scottish championship that would be a big step up on this fella.

    Terrible signing.

Out of curiosity, who do you deem better in the SPFL and the Scottish Championship?

    Jason Cummings, Adam Rooney.

Surely you would agree and would rather have either of those pair as 3rd choice behind Griffiths and Dembele.

Come to think of it, I would take Scott McDonald back and play him before Ciftci ffs.

You had my attention until you said you'd rather have Scott McDonald than Ciftci :56:

He's one of those guys who will turn up in pre-season but not at any other point.

Can't take to him. Was sceptical about spunking £1.5m in the first place and no wonder. You don't pay that for a guy who has never broken 20 goals in the SPL.

He's the kind of player that could thrive under Rogers tutelage. I'd keep him around to see if he takes his opportunities.

We would be better with a wet carrot up front, he's completely useless.

I don't think he is that bad, for a third choice striker what do * expect?
