Where is the evidence that we have really made an offer? The player said that all he has heard is what the papers and internet have been saying. Surely if we were interested then his agent would have been contacted at very least, and then the player would be kept informed.

Musona opens the door to Celtic deal

Zimbabwean striker Knowledge Musona admits Celtic’s bid to lure him to Parkhead could divert him from his dream move to Hoffenheim.

The Kaizer Chiefs star has already spent a week on trial with the Bundesliga club, and had hoped he had done enough to make the £1.3million transfer happen quickly.

But the German side have struggled to agree the structure of the deal, and this has left the door open for Celtic.

Kaizer Chiefs believe the Parkhead club are prepared to top Hoffenheim’s offer for the 21-year-old by up to £900,000.

This has left Musona in limbo as he revealed he is still waiting to hear officially from Chiefs about the details of Celtic’s interest.

He said: “This thing of Scotland, no-one has told me from the technical team.

“I’m waiting for them to finalise everything when they finish their talks. I would be very happy to go to Germany. I was there some weeks ago and liked the players, the coach and the facilities. I think it would be a good move for me to go there.”

But, when asked how likely he now believes it is he will move to Hoffenheim, he replied: “I think it is 50-50, because now, with this Celtic thing coming up, if they finalise everything, I don’t know where I will go.”

Celtic currently have South African striker Katlego Mphela and Slovakian hitman Milos Lacny on trial, and Neil Lennon hopes to get permission to see both men in action during tonight’s friendly against Wolves.

He is determined to bring his search for a new attacking option to a successful conclusion soon, but continues to consider several options.

Reading’s Shane Long has been on his target list for several months, But the price remains a major stumbling block as West Ham are set to offer £7million for the Republic of Ireland international.

Motherwell’s Jamie Murphy has emerged as the latest man to go under the microscope after Lennon checked on his progress at the weekend.

Although he is under contract for another two years, the Scotland Under-21 striker could be available for around £1m. However, this price could be driven much higher due to the interest being shown in him from several other clubs, including Wigan, Spurs, Wolves and Rangers.

Meanwhile, Lennon began to free up wages with the departure on a season-long loan to Real Zaragoza of Efrain Juarez.

I remember reading somewhere last week tha KC's said their preference would be to sell the player to the Germans as this could open relations where they could loan players to each other. I cant remember where exactly i read this though :(

Sorry never replied mate, just noticed this post!

Yeah Musona is from Zimbabwe, but plays for Kaiser's so that would do for me! lol

I asked my Uncle a while a go, he is under the impression that Mphela is a better overall striker, not sure if he is being biased towards him as he is South African :56:

This was what my Uncle sent me on facebook:

His English very good, but its his second language so sorry if theres mistakes in there :50: and he supports Spurs, but hes coming over to Scotland soon so I will get him into Celtic and hopefully we will have Musona or Mphela :celt_2:

Lets see how Katlego does for us tonight :50:

Even if we lose out on Musona and sign Mphela and maybe Huseklepp/Daniel Larsson/Lacny, then I'll be more than happy.
