MURPHY WASTE OF £1.5MIL ? [Murphy threads merged]

he had a decent pre season for us to and he scored on his first start for the club , what more can you ask ?
i think too much ppl are jumping on his sunderland bandwagon record here , its a proven fact diffrent players work in diffrent leagues , who is to say he wont be our top goal scorer come end of season , until then i rest my case

I was pointing out that being at the game makes it easier to judge certain attributes, such as speed, movement and positioning.

If you disagree with that then there is something wrong with you.

Using extreme examples hardly helps prove your point.

Well he scored a penalty and fluffed every other half chance so that is hardly in his favour. Look at his scoring record in his career and then come back and tell me you will judge him on his ability to hit the back of the net.

Murphy did well yesterday,,stokes 800k great deal,,,stop the winging guys the squad ie subs n co are much stronger than last year..ob no use for europe as they had no match time together...stokes has a rep for goals and is only 22 between him and hooper we will get goals..maf could not score in a brothel..raz was fat and didnt impress lenny in training,,sammy has quality but no balls top notch striker needed bring our to goal getters on to the next level..please be keane...murphy will be handy as cover..STOP THE MOANING THOUGH BHOYS GIVE THIS TEAM A CHANCE..

thought it was because maloney work for it, not murphy to score a penalty is what it is a penalty kick and a £100,000 pound player can do that with ease

 

it took a * of a lot of guts for murphy to put home that penalty considering thursday night and the fact it was late on in the game , come on man credit where it is due ffs !

Are we not being to harsh on Murphy!!!

I can't beleive the amount of stick Murphy is getting from some people on here as he has only played about 270 minuites for us.

Everyone is saying that he was a waste of money but if I remember correctly, did he not score in his 2 pre season games?

Now I know Lincoln isn't exactly a big name but Arsenal is, and don't talk about all this "it was a tap in" crap, you have to be there to score it and Murphy was there.

I also thought he took his penalty on Sunday very well, especially with all the pressure on him, and Celtic for that matter to win the match.

So lets stop all the negativity surrounding him and back him to get more goals.
