    2016 has been a really * year as far as legends passing away is concerned, Muhammad Ali is supposed to outlive everybody.

    He has lived a lot longer than i expected, but i have grown up with the man. I still remember fearing for him fighting Foreman, and heading off to school dreading finding out the outcome....only to find he had written another chapter in sporting history.

    I think the saddest thing was he never really got to live out and relish his success. 21 Years as a professional boxer and then 32 years with Parkinson's, his life was never easy.

    “I hated every minute of training, but I said, 'Don't quit. Suffer now and live the rest of your life as a champion'.”

    That he did.

    remember me and my mate queued for about 6 hours to see him when he done his book signing down at argyle st. we were queued all the way around the corner and halfway up renfield st.
    by the time we got down to the bookstore the books were sold out and the signings were over. never got to shake his hand, but caught a glimpse of the great man himself and that in itself was worth the wait.
