How do you know Mowbray isn't like that?

I think he might just be a surprise.

What I mean is we cant get a high level EPL manager because that league is too rich but we might get a high level manager from one of Europes less minted leagues like Holland, Portugal etc.

Levein didnt know how to win at Leicester City, nor could he win enough at dundee utd the last 2 seasons to get them into the top 4.

    He hasnt done anything.

He has moments when he looks like a world class striker , the goals against man u , the huns and killie come to mind. but some of his misses this season have been terrible , expecialy the chance against the huns at parkhead.

And i suppose your right about him been able to see who is fit , been to loyal was always one of his falts

Thats cos I'm not out there working full time at trying to bring in a manager.

I still would like Bilic but its not going to happen.

Someone like Mircea Lucescu. Or Martin Jol. Would be a push to get them but its worth a shot.

It would be a massive push to get Jol since hes just taken over a new job...ajax i think.

Bilic - whats he done in club management to suggest he would be a hit? He's done fine with Croatia but look at the players he has at his disposal...different story when you have to buy players.

I think if Mowbray doesn't get the job due to compensation then it will be between McGhee or Levein. I think that is why McGhee hasn't been unveiled yet as the Aberdeen manager cos' hes waiting to see what happens at Celtic.

I think Levein made his feelings clear the other day when he said that he was happy at Dundee Utd but that he has always maintained he wanted to manage at the highest level, that to me hints he would be interested.

my football knowledge is not up to working out the detail but how about whoever are the managers of the top dutch teams? We are much bigger than they are and their leagues are also dominated by a few big teams.

Yes i want him as the next manager. As everyone knows he will get us playing good football. So one bad season and your a poor manager seems to be the case against mogga, poor show. Levein has done * all with his teams, yes theyr hard to beat but hasnt done anything with them has he!

Celtic could get Jose Mourenho,Davie Moyes and the huns would kid on they were pish, there opinions don't count.Only opinions that matter is that of the Celtic supporters,..Do we want Tony Mowbray..? Do we have a choice ?
Ill take it on the chin regardless.
For me its a case of opportunities lost
I look at Real Madrid,AC Milan,Barcelona, Manchester Utd and know in my heart of hearts that is the table that Celtic should be sitting at.Its without a doubt.
Im not living in cuckoo fantasy land,Ive travelled the globe and Celtic have more supporters that anyone,We are a unique brand,we don't represent a city like Manchester Liverpool Madrid Milan or Barcelona, just look at the name.
The sooner we have someone with the vision to get us into the EPL at all costs the sooner we can realize our potential

like I said its just a gut feeling that he is made of the right stuff to be a winner but has never had the funds. He did well with Hearts and IMO he did well this season too given that Dundee U keep selling his best players off. From what I heard he just went to Leicester at the wrong time when the club was imploding behind the scenes.

There is something intelligent and steely about him that is a bit unusual, reminds me of several great past managers and my hunch is he would be great at a better club. I do not feel the same about Mowbray. Unless we can get a big name, I would be delighted if it was Levein. He seems to have a real eye for a player on a small budget. I think he will stagnate at DU and he needs a better funded club to show his real talent. I think he is down the pecking order partly because he would not be a crowd pleaser and the board have one eye on the season tickets (very short sighted IMO).

Well thats another group - very experienced but unemployed EPL managers. Is Roy Hodgson unemployed. He was a brilliant training ground manager a few years back.

I think we should just give all these threads a break for a while.
Aye we're still waiting for celtic to announce the new man, and we all know that time to rebuild a dying squad is fast running out.

I voted Yes for mowbray as i can't see anyone else who wants the job. So lets just hope the board puts us back on the correct track and reclaim those trophies from Mordor.
