whats the point in going for a manager like scollari or rykard when you ahve to give them top wages AND you need a big transfer budget for them and lets be honest it doesnt guarantee you will win anything so we have to get a manager who can work within the means of our club and scottish football and mowbray for one has proved thats he can pick a player AND work within a budget so yeah its always exciting to be linked with the top managers and players but lets be fair its not realistic

Do you know, i can't quite make my mind up about Mowbray.
Some part of me is quite excited but another part of me would have liked a bigger name(if it was possible).

Best out of a mediocre bunch tbh. Saying that, he has earned the right out of them to be here. Plays good football, might need to sacrifice a part of that to get results.

    Welcome Tony!

I'm still uncertain on him as well, he's proven he can't grind out results. Playing fancy dan stuff is all well and good when you're playing a team that actually wants to play football rather than stick up 2 banks of 4. Still remains to be seen if he can adapt.

He beat ranges anti football 3-0, twice, at ibrox. And most championship teams play on the counter and he beat them all to win the league.

I think Hearts pumped them twice when he was at Hibs as well though? Which would point to not being able to change it up.

I might be wrong I just think he needs to be less naive sometimes and get some balls in the box rather than try and pass it into the net which would have served West Brom well at time when they were dominating games and not converting that into points.

Aye, but imo he wen to West Brom haing learned from his mistakes with Hibs. HE knew he had to change it and was able to kick teams of the park if necessary to gain points. That 'win at any cost' mentality is something which we need at Celtic.

Tony Mowbray?.......what a massive step for us......sideways.

In fact I wouldn't be at all surprised if Strachan replaced him at West Brom if he does come to Celtic.

Think we're all resigned to the fact it's going to be Mowbray as Celtic manager for the foresseable future and although he doesn't have a 5 star CV, he doesn't command 5 star wages either and obviously is well aware of the contraints put on him coming to manage us.

I'd like to think we'd all get behind him and wish him the very best of luck. Here's hoping we'll see a vastly improved side in terms of passing and moving the ball around quicker and hopefully a lot more goals.

Be optimistic bhoys and ghirls...am * * off at being depressed :icon_mrgreen:
