Makes no difference how much money he has, we are a self sufficient club who will not rely on a sugar daddy to fund the team.

If UEFA get there way every club will have to be run like this as they are trying to make it that you can only spend what you generate to get rid of the multi-billionaires throwing crazy money at players and basically ruining the game.

absolutely behind the big man - every one of his signings has been good.

he inherited a really poorly managed squad, far too big and filled with mediocre players.

i feel he's changing things for the better, just needs to start Robson and bench Broony and we'll be fine.

How much better were we than Rangers today, apart from two * goals given away. The law of averages says that they won't win another game against us, with the quality we have against their mediocrity - surely

Its SKY money. That allows English teams to spend 7 million on fairly ordinary player and give him a three year contract with 5 million in wages. Every quality player except the rare one who slips the net will cost that. If we need 2 new CBs, a playmaker and two new CFs we could be looking at an outlay in fees and wages of 60 million to get each and on a 3 year contract. I think we can totally forget that. All we can do is look for bargains that slip the net and the best local young players and do our best. The main thing is that our players are better than Rangers in key positions. The bottom line is I think the spine of our team is not better than Rangers. They have better CBs, a more settled fairly strong CM pairing (and Thompson to come back) and they even have strikers who last season looked a lot better than our ones. We are (despite losing a genious like Naka) far better than them in terms of creative players so we look better but our spine is pretty poor.

I'm warming to Mogga actually. He's being honest that we're nowhere near the finished product, but says give me two years before you judge me. I think he'll do okay. We're in transition so I am going to give him some slack. He wasn't my preferred choice but he's here and we need to give him a chance.

I'm not talking about spending millions and millions. It wouldn't meen we were relying on a 'sugar daddy' to get one big signing ever now and again (when needed).

We don't spend anything that we haven't generated ourselves, it's the way the club is ran and it's not going to change in the foreseeable future.

Plus splashing out on 1 top class player would mean having to give them wages to match - that might cause splits in the dressing room and can be detrimental in the long run.

Then you have the risk if you're star player turns out to be an expensive flop, or gets a bad injury what do we do then go ask for more money to replace them?

I wasn't talking about buying 2 new CFs, playmakers etc. I was just trying to say that maybe he could help fund a move for a big signing like keane. It would only happen once in a blue moon and it would hurt his wallet.

I think anyone who says mogga aint up to the job should take a huge reality check.Imo we have a manager right now who is honest enough to say the team aint up to scratch, changes need made, players need to buck up their ideas.Id rather have that any day than someone that will come out and say oh we created lots of chances, we were the better team etc etc. At least he has the bottle to say we're not playing to our ability and to point out individuals who are not up to the mark. For me that kind of honesty is refreshing and a welcome change. Some people keep bringing up owen coyle and how he should have been picked for the job...is that the same owen coyle who's team got ripped apart by the mighty Barnsley the other week?! Oh yeah he'd be much better :31:. Its fair to say we're not playing great at the mo but mowbray has so far brought in good additions to the team. You need to remember he had to make do with Strachans leftovers and bring in what he could on a limited budget. It was not long ago mowbray said the team needs 2-3 years to be right and i personally agree with that. It'll without a doubt take time to build a quality side. I just hope these so called fans will get off moggas back and give him a chance to build a good quality side.Having said that i sadly doubt the fickle fans will give him the chance. :38:

The REAL challenge has not arrived yet - it's not about TM being up for the job. Hhe knows better than anyone that what he has as a so called team is "*".

It is all about whether the Board will support/back/fund him.

is it just me or has everyone forgotten that we could have signed Slaven bilic, I am beginning to believe that our board is biased towards towards managers from outside Britian our Ireland. Instead of taking Slaven Bilic who has proved himself as manager of the Croation national team, and has shown that he has what it takes to create a great team with very little. Also, his quick attacking style of play would fit well with Celtic and he would attrack many talented Croation players plus many other world class players. Instead out board went with the man who is know for haveing his team relegated duuring their first season in the EPL. I have never like TM and I dont think I ever will barring a drastic change in his attitude and style of management

Spot on. I'll be interested to see if Mowbray tries to buy a centre back in January.

how can you blame tm ffs he has inherited a team of mainly muppets from the last * that was in charge .i think he will get himself the sack if these clowns ( mcmanus, caldwell, loovens etc) are not removed but if you heard what he had to say yesterday after the game about the defence he is prepared to sort it out just give him time !!!
