We're stuck with Mogga until at least the start of 2011, if by that point we're again far behind the Huns & showing no sign of improvement, then the board will have to act.

Mogga does worry me, his manner & lack of motivation & tactics, but I also see that we're not a million miles away from having a decent team.
We needed major surgery for years on the team, & whilst making so many radical changes might not have been wise, at least it has been addressed & lots of deadwood has been moved on.

What we do have, is a new team that are getting used to playing together under very difficult circumstances, perhaps it might do them good in the long term.
I think Jos & Rogne look very solid, Thompson looks a decent squad player, I personally think Fortune is an excellent team player & will be even better next season, Rasmussen , I'm sure will bang in the goals given a decent run in the team.
If we can sort out the midfield & get a decent left back, I think we'll not be far off having a good team.

Changes I would like to see in the summer are Boruc & McGeady moving on, both are stale & not consistent enough, not sure about N'Guemo, but I wish we'd signed Kevin Thompson at the same time as Brown, I think he misses having a no non-sense ball winner next to him.
I wouldn't mind seeing Kamara staying, hopefully Maloney can keep fit next year, & Mizuno & McCourt have to step up & challenge.

We badly need two solid centre midfielders, & left back, the silk is there, we just need to add the steel.
Not convinced Mogga is the man, but realise we're stuck with him for now, and maybe with a few decent signings in the summer he might be able to turn things around.

Aye because the decline in Europe only started when Mowbray walked into Celtic Park.. It's like the decline that was in full flow last season never actually happenend with some of you people..

'Mowbray Confuses Me' is the thread title. Now that is an understatement.

It is not just the 4 loan signings that we have atm, it is the lack of consistant team selection, the lack of joined up thinking when you look at transfers, the strange tactics and formations and the bizarre substitutions. Even when he did manage to stumble across combinations that worked he has resisted all logic to re-uniting them. Crosas & N'Guermo, anyone?

It is almost as if we have been playing pre-season friendlies all season long.

I want to see what TM sees. I really do. Its like a mirage, elusive and illusionary. His actions seem to contradict what he says. For all his best intentions he seems to have a reverse Midas' touch - all he touches turns to sh*t. The biggest worry in all this is that its not that Mowbray confuses the support, or that he confuses the players, its that he so often confuse himself.

Totally agree here about the 4 in a row nightmare.

We're so far behind Rangers right now that I cannot see how we can hope to catch them next season. Especially if it's true that a bid for them is imminent, as this will probably lead to money being available to strengthen their side.

I want a manager who wants to win first and foremost and then who hopes to do it in style. We have a manager who want to play stylish football and if we win, even better. At the moment we're not doing either.

Last season we scored 80 goals and conceded 33 in 38 games. This year we've scored 51 and conceded 31 in 27 games.

We'd need to score almost 3 goals a game in the rest of our matches to equal last year. So much for more entertaining football!!!

Considering strachan's record in europe that was put down to a bad season, we were all expecting to get through the group we were in, i dunno about you but under WGS I think we would have made it through cause he could still get results at CP.

true m8 wee ginger was terrible in his last half season, we after all played shockingly ,our players were shocking tbh too, now the same players who we wanted off our books have gone peeps still find time to blame mogga for not keeping them ,strange and deluded spring to mind .
we had to change our team and get rid of the deadwood ,mogga's done that now we can only hope he's got his targets set for pre season and to see what the future holds ,i'm positive we can rebuild and get our title back.

It could be that either the thread was put in the wrong section or more likely there is currently a smilar thread running.:50:

at the end of the day TM promised us attractive attacking football,he also said he was building a team.now correct me if im wrong, but the current starting 11 is a majority of loan signings.how will this help us next season? we will be back to square 1. ive also still to see this football which TM promised to deliver.think he is a nice guy,but when it comes down to business he is not doing any good for CFC.

Even if it's a long term plan there should still have been short term goals to be met.. Even if those short term goals were simple things such as beating Kilmarnock , seeing out a lead against Falkirk , Hearts , Hibs , Rangers , and a two goal lead against Aberdeen..
I suppose when a club go all out for a manager and pay compensation , they want to show their faith in him but a 4 year contract is a bit much..
There's not been any kind of acceptance that there's a problem with being 10 to 13 points behind the huns , or any real accountability from management for not giving us even one high point of the season (A loan signing in Keane is most people's high point).. John Reid made a statement last year that "The fightback starts now"... Would be nice if it can gather a bit of pace sometime soon..

From this point on any losses or draws can only put more heat on him.

Good to know that he has adopted a rollercoaster mentality......that underlines his ethos and tactical viewpoint he's a massive risk taker.

Welcome to the Parkhead casino Mr Mowbray..how much would you like 10 million?

I cannot see any game plan at Celtic park when we did not rebuild the back line at day one.

TM will be shown up for what he is over the coming weeks and hopefully that should be sufficient, if not we are in for more fun at his "Rollercoaster" theme park.

I think when they appointed Mowbray they appointed a madman to run the asylum. It has been an utter disaster under him with no sign of abating either, and we are left looking at picking over the bones of a ruined and wasted season, there is no getting away from this whatever anybody says. The point is the longer this madness is allowed to run its course the
greater the damage he will wreak on the club, team and support. He should have been bulleted at Christmas imo, and we might just have salvaged something out of the season. As it stands now 13 points behind the Huns, my earlier forecast of losing this league to the Huns by 16+ points is eerily taking shape. I honestly can't see us winning the Scottish Cup or the last Old Firm game either under Mowbray it is that bad.The longer we leave him in office the harder it becomes for his eventual successor to do anything constructive about the shambles Mowbray has got us in.That runs the very real risk of giving Rangers a head start to get 3IAR.

As much as it pains me to say it. But after last weeks game I have no faith that Mowbray will be able to turn things around. Fair enough a new manager coming in and the recogniction that the side which did well over the previous 4 seasons needs to be dismantled. Your going to have some growing pains with lots of change. Fair enough.
Out straight away go VOH, Nakamura and Hartley which made sense given their ages and being out of contract.
But what is clearly coming home to roost is how Mowbray goes about building a team from the front first. To my mind you need to get your backline sorted straight away. Instead our biggest summer signing is a striker in Fortune.
No rebuilding project can excuse the sheer level of ineptitude that has been Celtic this season. I could maybe see us losing the title in a tight race given the size of reshaping the team needs. But there is no excuse for the pathetic season we have had. The worst league performance in a decade since the Barnes debacle. Knocked out of the League Cup at home. A European campaign that was as embarrassing as our league one has been.
Now to be fair to Mowbray the quality level of quite a good portion of his signings looks good. But having said that we still have no clear idea as to who our 2 center backs are and we have nobody at all who can play a holding role in central midfield. For the first time in I can't even remember how long certainly at least since Barnes 10 years ago I have no clue or feeling at all for what shape and structure our team has.

Then on top of that our team seems to have very little mental toughness as we for the first time in a long time reguarly have been losing or drawing games by giving up late goals rather then the opposite which was the norm for a long time.

I hope I really do that Mowbray proves me wrong. But sadly I have no belief that Mowbray can build a top quality side that can return us to the top in the spl never mind be able to compete on the European stage.

a had faith in mowbray and was willing to give him to the rest of the season would have gave him another season if the team showed a bit of fight and spirit but the way some of our games have gone this season against the other teams in the league is gutting the recent aberdeen game we wer 4-2 up now for me he shood have sat bak and defended maybe stuck another defender on but he decided to go for more goals needs to use his brain sumtimes the only tactic he knows is play 4 strikers * the rest of the team! his signings have been good but the lack of team spirit and fight shocks me

Sorry man but I have my reasons. In my own defence though I did give Strachan 18 months in the job before I reached that conclusion.

I think he will be given the chance to show improvements by nov/dec and if there are none by then he will be out the door. But heres hoping thats not the case and we are strolling the league.
I like the signings he has brought in nguemo kamara fortune Raasmussen Rogne hooiveld all look like good additions. I fear that if we go down the road of not letting managers get a fair run then no other manager worth his salt will be interested coming to celtic atleast if gets the chance to prove himself then it shows that we are a supporting club.
