I know there is a variety of opinions but the problem I see with the really damning ones is that they just do not tally with the fact he is current POTY and EPL managers are actually on record coveting him. A lot of football people really rate the guy. He hasnt been fit this season so there is no justification for revising last seasons assessment of him as yet.

true but you do get tecnically good players with the heart of a sparrow like Donati and JJ who just cannot cope with SPL football.

I think it is a good choice. He does have a degree of talent with energy &
allways seems to be committed to the cause. He will give you his all on the pitch, though that isnt enough for some on here.

Is having energy, a commitment to the cause and giving your all enough in a Celtic CM and captain for you?

In that case, can I play?

this could be one of tonys better moves. lots of people who seem a bit wild and out of control turn round and do a great job when given responsibility. i would rather see somebody with browns fire than somebody that floats about unnoticed. lennon was hardly an angel.

In my mind it is the only choice that TM had due to the lack of leadership qualities in our team.

    no:icon_mrgreen:

I said as well that he has a degree of talent.I think he has a lot more skill
than some like to admit.i for one hope & believe his appointment is the
thing that spurs him & the team onto greater things.
lets be honest at the present time whoever TM picked would get slated.
why dont we just get behind broony for now & give it a chance. :50:

    Yep.

Have already said in a previous post that whilst I dont agree with the appointment, he'll get my backing as captain.

Hopefully its the spur he needs to show us this talent people keep telling me he has.

most players were football supporters before they got their big break.
they would have thought same as you.but most get it coached out of them before they get near 1st team. the ones that keep it like brown
should be respected for it because their true character shows through'

This is part of a smokescreen to keep Brown onboard following the recent controversy involving his future at the club.
The sad fact is that we no longer have a high profile enough character to wear the armband as of right.
Better off giving it to Keane who may only be a short term "fix" but has also worn it for the Republic. Try and imagine how he feels about this - well p!ssed off, I'd have thought.
Besides, who's going to get it if wee Scott breaks down again?

You know what is so funny? TC polls at the time showed we agreed with Broony and Caldwell as the POTY. How did Broony become so badly thought of considering he has been unfit since last season?

    * *, confirmation he'll be first team regular. And making him captain is ridiculous idea, I couldn't care less if he wants to get decent price in summer by giving him the armband. We want the title, right? It means no Brown in the team.

i think brown will be a rejuvenated player for us and to be honest i think hes the best choice for captain at the minute.. hes what where lacking in midfield, a bit of dig and drive and also someone who will do anything for the cause.. before he got injured he was playing dung but we will definately see a different brown for us in the coming months.. hes also a bit of a nutter, just what i like aswell..:56:

I would give him the chance. He's had his share of injury problems and personal circumstances may have affected his game during his time here. However, he is a good player when he is on his game and was our best player in the League Cup Final last season IMO.
