    If he had stayed you could almost guarantee he would have picked up ANOTHER hamstring/calf injury and be out for half the season again. Im quite happy we are taking the £18 million, Im not just saying this because he is leaving but he is not the next world class super star striker that some Celtic fans were making him out to be in his first season. It will be interesting to see how his career progresses.

    People are getting mad because there's no replacement but this ratbag sprung it on them on the eve of an important match. Perhaps had they known there would have been more time to get someone. A player also needs to want to come. You can have your eye on a few but conditions need to be in the right place for it to work.

    After being delighted last night when we rejected the bid it was clear today him staying would only open another can of worms.

    Hate to see him go but no point having a * here that doesn’t want to. If we didn’t sell him now he’d * off in January and who’s knows what would happen in between or what we’d get for him then.

    So he is gone and no replacement, 2 strikers for the season. So we become predictable as normal, 1 up front every game. What is the point in giving players contracts if they down tools when they don't get what they want. Not gutted he is gone but its the timing of it and the boards inability to see this coming that * me off. Basically Brendan is saying he is gone for the harmony of the team, he will be * as we are that we cannot get a replacement in. When teams start getting ripped apart in this manner the manager will not be too far behind. :censored:

    It's no really 2 hours mate. They must've had some sort of back up plan in mind when they first heard there was interest. I think they have waited till now to finally accept the board so they can tell us there was nothing they could do as they didn't have adequate time to find a replacement. More lies

    this does not look good, how we go into this season now with only two strikes is foul.

    Robbie Keane and Bellamy signing at their peak together wouldn't save this mess.

    That's true Jeannie but tbh any recruitment/scouting set up worth it's salt would anticipate a bid coming in and have a replacement already eyed up.
