He allowed one of their players to receive treatment and stay on the park, pretty poor I thought he shoulda been off. Other than that oversight he was pretty good

At the risk of sounding like an absolute rule geek, the rules have changed for this season and they are allowed to stay on now if the opponent was carded and the treatment was deemed 'quick'.

Should see a lot more of it, I think it's a good thing personally as long as refs are consistent.

Thought he let them away with 2/3 bookings as well, there was a couple of times they pulled our players back or held onto us in midfield and I remember once one of their players slide tackled Griffiths from behind and didnt get booked either, went right through him.

Wasn't that Shitov late on? He was on a yellow and minced Griff from behind and got away with it. Ref clearly said it was his last chance though and sent him off for fouling Dembele for the penalty.

As much as I wanted him sent off for the foul on Griff, I did think it was good by the ref to let him stay on and (most likely) let him know that that's his last chance. I know rules are rules and he came through the back of him but I don't mind that in a ref. Plus, if he walked for that tackle, we may never have won the second penalty. :smiley-laughing002:

Absolutely delighted for him. Really am.

That took serious baws, make no mistake about it. I said to my mate at HT that I fancied him to make this the night and thank * he did.

He has shown in glimpses what he is capable of, hope this just kicks him on.

Aye second half, right through the back of him. Was Shitov I'm sure who was already on a yellow, and was sent off for the penalty..

What a confidence booster that is after 7 games or so without a goal. That should settle him right down. Excited to see what he can bring to the table.

Even out? No, Watch the replay, mate. That was a stonewall penalty. He catches Dembele's ankle.

Is that Lustig that comes running over to the bench for instructions?

Had to laugh at the press as well prior to tonight.

Talking about his 'slow start' already with the guy having only played 3 competitive matches. Mental.

As said already, to step up and take that penalty knowing that he hadn't scored yet for the club and also knowing what was at stake took massive stones.

Fair play to the lad, great penalty. Hopefully the first goal of many :50:

I know; the football press are, bar a few exceptions, a shower of embarrassing *. Some of the questions and grand, sweeping statements they come out with sometimes are a riddy.

The pen was coolness personified but the play leading to the goal was unreal. Great link up play from the two strikers.

Hopefully he can settle down and start scoring goals now.

The league season starting will hopefully allow him to relax and play his natural game.

Asking him if he understands Broony as well. :smiley-laughing002:

These guys are paid fairly handsomely to think up a question like that. Fuds.

Amazing they can actually call themselves journos.

Half of them are useless and just type regurgitated *.

'8 games without a goal' aye lets count all the meaningless friendlies just to make it look worse. Wanks.

Griffiths said in the post-match that if Dembele's on the field, he takes the penalties. And seemed very confident in him taking the penalties.

Penos obviously require technique and composure. When a guy with as good a strike as Griffiths gladly passes the baton, taking it as a pretty good sign for Moussa.

Great to see him step up and take that vital penalty.....will give him the encouragement to relax a bit.....must admit though....I was worried.
