Surprised he didn't start, as it's exactly the game that suits him. Think Griff was justified in starting right enough.

Both Griffiths and Dembele could have started. The Bayern defence looked like they were on an all inclusive.

Dembele gives us a better outlet against top teams. The ball was getting humped up top and it was Hummels and Boateng v Griffiths. Griff was never going to be winning headers.

Moussa is a far more physical player with better game intelligence as well.

Looks sharp again play him in the next few games and he should be fully fit for the game at Parkhead, he's a threat and he played some brilliant passes as well when he came on.

Didn't think Griff did much wrong tonight, had a thankless task between the two CB's but still linked up well..

Needs to start these type of games ahead of Griff, his qualities are far more suited to it.

I thought there was a clear difference in our play once he came on. Should really be starting these games no matter what, even if it is harsh on Griff.

Thought he was anonymous. It's not his fault that he's wee, but he just doesn't suit these games at all.

One of the positives from tonight. Looked really sharp.

On the disallowed goal - was it not the defender who toe-poked it away from Moussa just as he was trying to shoot? I have only seen 1 replay. If yes, it was a good goal!!

Dembele had the same task though. He controlled the ball better, allowing us to get men up the park and look dangerous. We had better chances because of this, and looked a different team up front.

    They respected Dembele..

    They didn't respect Griffiths..

The whole team was anonymous. Tierney and Gordon kept lumping the ball to nobody and Roberts just ran into the opposition. Nothing Griffiths could have done. He had some nice touches.

He's better suited to the lone striker role in games like tonight, horses for courses and all that. Tbf doubt it would have made a difference to the outcome.

Dembele against City at home last season is still the best performance I've seen from a striker in the CL for us since Larsson against Lyon in 2003. He just has to start these games. I * love Griff and am not object to playing the two of them together when the situation arises but Dembele just has that something extra about him at this level.

As @Aidan O'Shea mentioned, we should definitely look into playing Dembele up front with Griff just in the hole behind him..

Not for me. Do you think Griffiths is a better creative midfielder than Rogic?

Griffiths is a striker. He should only play as a striker, whether that be in a 1 or 2, unless we are short of players.

Thing is, I don’t think Rogic is rated by Brendan in Europe. He slows the game down too much and can’t keep up with the rapid pace of the first half. Does well as an impact sub.
