    Just cant get enough
A goal next Wednesday in front of a big home crowd would do him the world of good. Think he was just disappointed with his own performance today.

Some amount of overreacting in this thread! Let the lad settle and find his feet and we've got a player on our hands. I've got no doubt he'll come good.

Him not celebrating was probably more out of his feeling like he should have done more to help the team - that he was still reeling from the disappointment of his own poor performance.

Still, his complete lack of a touch or control of the ball has me yet to be convinced that this guy is a footballer. So far not great body strength or movement either. Every time he gets the ball he seems to either lose control immediately, run into a tackle or frantically try to shoot, all to no avail.

Hope we start to see some big improvements and soon. Lot of hype to live up to.

    Come on son.

Most players get a few weeks of league footie to settle in where there isnt too much pressure, hes been thrown into our most important games of the season with millions riding on them on excuses of pitches..

Not reading anything into pre season friendlies either... 3 games to be judged on I reckon so far.. Imps away, write off...and that's the entire squad. Today, extremely tough game away were lets be honest he got no service... Imps at home he was probably disappointed but we scored 3 quick goals and took the foot of the gas...As I said before I dont think he is a natural striker in a two up top, I reckon hed better coming in off the wing running at people..Im sure BR knows what hes at.

Not judging him and not blaming him for the lack of celebration.

Agree with everything, must bring mixed feelings, at least at first, for any striker to come off minutes before your team scores. Never mind a new signing desperate to impress.

He's certainly not shown anything to be excited about yet although extremely early days obviously. Not holding my breath but fingers crossed.

i will judge him after he gets his first goal..

some strikers go through barren patch and then go on a scoring spree, our midfield are not giving him quality service and i'm hoping his first touch is just eagerness/rustiness/ as its not been great so far.

maybe the lack of celebration is down to being new at the club, hoping he will be doing his celebrating on the park in the near future

He actually scored a great header that was wrongly disallowed. It's not on record as a goal, but it hit he back of the net. He's capable and his link up play is excellent. The goals will come.

Pretty sure McDonald's first 2 competitive games came against Spartak Moscow in the qualifiers, in one of which he scored.

Dembele needs time and for the fans not to get on his back. Confident he'll develop into a good player.

Patience needed with Dembele I think. He is a quality player, but he's also very young. He needs time to settle. Once he gets his first I think he'll be fine. He's trying too hard just now.

He hasn't impressed me so far(apart from a few instances)but people need to remember he only turned 20 this month aswell. Plenty of time to progress and i'm not going to write him off after 2 or 3 competitive games.
