If he's worth £15m at the end of this season it won't matter whether we qualify for the CL next season, clubs will have already assessed him. It would be great if we do qualify and he decides to stay and develop for another season getting first team action in the CL. Then we really could make some dough on him.

Just as long as the vultures coming to perch in our stands don't suddenly see Tierney and Rogic as well. Those two I'm hoping will be long term Celtic players.

Maybe but then Lawell would have him sold for the first decent money that came in to make up the 'deficit'.

Tottenham bid £6 mill for him at Fulham he's improved immensely under Brendon and you think he's only worth between 5-7 mill? Thank * you dont have PL's job.one of the stupidest valuation's I've heard for a long time.wanyama vvd both relatively unknown quantities down south both go for over £10 mill dembele getting a lot of praise in media all over Europe, nominee in the golden boy awards and you value him at £5-7 mill Jesus

I'm not so sure with this one. I think the plan from the beginning was to make as much money as possible from him and that 4 year contract basically guarantees we'll get two years progress out of him when he should be at his most valuable to us. I don't think it's the same situation as VVD and Wanyama etc. This is a special project.

What's the deficit anyway? How much do we owe?

We are guilty on this site of sticking values on players that surprise surprise no one end up paying.
Lets get real is he a good player, yes, has he been scoring like he has for a few seasons or a few games.....hmmm.
We all know scottish goals count for * all down south and he will be judged on how he does in europe and playing for france.
He is doing well but guidetti did well, then he scored something like 5 goals in the next 6 months, form can drop.
If he keeps scoring and playing well all season and does well next summer in the euro games then yes we can be talking about 10-15 million and maybe more if he is really good.
But if you think we could get 10 or 15 million for him after 9 games....imo he is not there yet.

Griffiths is probably worth just under £5m. Dembele is £10m+ easily

I think people are getting carried away and forgetting where the guy plays and what sort of offers we get for our players.
He has played how many games...?......lets wait till he plays like that for a season or two.

No way we're getting 40 mill. Far too early to be valuing him that highly.

We are not Watford....we are not playing in england....we are not a ubber rich club who can offer high contract and by doing so force bidders to offer daft money.

£40m.. A prime Larsson would of struggled to fetch that, or the equivalent, in the Scottish league!

Thought the big man was good yesterday outside of the box. Actually challenged for headers and his hold up play was much, much improved. Don't remember him losing many aerial battles and the ball seemed stuck to his feet when dribbling.

I have really been impressed with his first touch .
When we first got him his first touch and ball control was * but now it is brilliant.
Hopefully we can keep him for a couple of seasons .

He's going nowhere for 40 million.

The bidding will be around half that when it does commence.

Tabloids are being naughty. As they do.

We were robbed with Wanyama and Van Dijk, so should be looking for atleast £20million for Dembele.

Wanyama should have went for about £16-18million and Van Dijk £20-24million. If they played for Porto or Ajax thats what they'd have gone for. Same as Dembele at Porto or Ajax would be going for about £30milliion but nobodies going to give us £30million since the record sale is only £13million. It's important we get £20million though to increase the barrier for future players as well, cant keep accepting £10-13million.

Shocking to think we only got £25million for Wanyama and Van Dijk combined when the likes of Porto, PSV and Sporting Lisbon sell guyss like Mangala, Otamendi, Danilo, Depay, Milik, Slimani, Martinez for that alone(or even much more).

Especially when you consider that Wanyama bossed Barcelona's midfield in the champions league & bullied them at every set piece.
