I saw that McCormack link. He seemed to think we had no chance of getting him, and it'd be a major surprise. Think he hinted that Dembele could go back to Psg or to Marseille..

This is a big signing, make no mistake..

I'm not sure Griff is the perfect link up foil but we'll see..

Also, if we're signing him for virtually nothing.... Do we get to put our own clause on and Fulham receive nothing? Don't want to talk up selling, but we're guaranteed pretty much, a massive fee in return within a few year..

I hope it's more than the 3 year contract being quoted.

Not sure on what the ins and outs will be, mate.

I'd hazard a guess that Fulham will try and get something out of this though, other than just the £500k compensation.

As you say if he impresses, a player like him could go for more than even Van Dijk.

Strikers are always top dollar. Never mind young French ones:smiley-laughing002:

Same, but I doubt a prospect like him will commit to anything longer. We tend to handle these quite well. Looking at VVD and Wanyama, in both cases we made the player stay as long as reasonably possible and in both cases we got good money.

If Dembele really is a class act, I'm sure after one year we'll extend and give him more money and a guarantee he'll be allowed to leave for a reasonable price.

Think strikers are a harder sell in Scotland than defenders and goalies though. Unless they go back to France or somewhere, we all saw how dismissive the English were of Hooper's goalscoring record up here.

I reckon they will, but seeing Psg are getting half the development fee, and him out of contract... I'm no sure what they can wangle out of us, money wise in the future..

Yep, striker's are hard to come by. The fact he's already much coveted, gives us a real good stepping stone. Usually we get Wanyama's/Forster's and Vvd's (to a lesser extent), and they develop here. Dembele is already widely known, wanted and has done it at a good level....as well as his young caps and goals through the French youth side's..

Let's get it done and enjoy him here, but I'm positive he'll go for mega buck's..

Without a doubt. Definitely that London connection probably from his Chelsea day's..

Great to see the road we're going down. I expect he could attract a whole host of youngster's from England..

Both in a team that finished 20th as well. Just shows you how good they were if they still scored that amount of goals in that poor a team.

A real coup if we pull this off. An absolutely superb first signing it would be.

What a * mental signing this would be! If this is the calibre of player we are going after Aberdeen, Hearts and the rest can wave goodbye to any chance of dethroning us anytime soon. Such a quick powerful forward who scored goals for team one place away from relegation last year! Very impressed.

We did well to just get him in the door. If it works out and we love him, he might sign for longer. If it doesn't work we only have 3 years. This should work, but how many times have BIG NAMES or big prospects came in only for them to fall? Happens all over the World...
3 years for free I think is a good starting point.
KT signed 2 Contracts in half a year didn't he?

Very good signing, only 19 and scored 17 goals last season, 15 in the championship. Nearly signed for Spurs in January for 5 million but the deal fell through because they wouldn't loan him back.

    Hes strong, quick and aggressive.
