Ki was the standout player last night.

A few players never showed up Ledley, M Wilson and Hooper but a lot of positives to be taken from this tough away fixture. The way we pressed the ball and kept possession of the ball bodes well for the away games against lesser opponents.

    Hail Hail

:56: M. Wilson didn't show up? i think he kept a lid on things down their most dangerous sides. i can remember two very good stops he had. one really hard challenge which he won fairly and the other in the box when he was up against two Athletico players. the second goal i blame on Forrest for not matching the run of Turan when he broke through from midfield when M. Wilson had to press the player who had the ball. i could see it happening a mile away. i saw Turan start his run and i said 'no one is matching that run'. what do they do? they get behind our backline as a result and score.

i don't understand anyone criticising Ledley, he did a hard nights graft imo. his job was to stop them playing which Ki and Kayal did as well. thought we played really well in the middle of the park.

the last few lines i whole heartedly agree with. when the first goal went in i thought it was going to be de ja vu but it wasn't. i think that was our best away performance in Europe for years. shame about the result. the only negatives is the manner of the goals and the result.

Intresting to see that the only outfield player in the poll to get no votes is Hooper , it's clear as day that he's not effective in playing the lone striker role .

It was Ki for me and he really is starting to impress me this season with his workrate & being much more aware of the game and players around him.

He looks much fitter than he did last year and plays with confidence. Would love to see him score a 30 yarder on Sunday!

Mulgrew was MOTM for me, thought he had a great game going forward and was sound defensively!

100% agree, i'd much rather see Sammy play lone striker & have Commons wide left!

Im sorry but i thought personally mark wilson was horrific as he has been all season, constantly caught lapsing, always far too close to his cb leaving huge gaps for the runner on the outside where we lost the goal that killed the match. I'm sorry to compare but if cha was playing last night we would not have lost that second goal.

Ki stood out as he looked our most dangerous Player. Saying that, it wasn't his best performance and Atletico simply outclassed us really. Kept us quiet and could've turned it up a gear if they wanted.

So it's not so much we played badly, it's more we weren't given an opportunity to play well by a superior side.

I thought Mulgrew last night and I stand by that today!

Having said that Ki played very well too.

And I know a lot of folk think Sammy did well - and TBH I thought he did too but there a couple of moments that let him down - still a big improvement from him though!

Ki in particular that first 25 minutes of the second half was our top man for me. Forster had a good game too with some very good saves late on.

Forster had a good game. Couple of top class stops and kicking has really improved. Great to have him back.
