I have it decent authority that this is how we are gonna line up tomorrow. . .

apparently the team has been set up this way in training. Might be a good shout. . .something needs done, and with the state of that pitch going back to front might be no a bad idea.

Yeah, they mentioned us using the diagonal ball from the full backs to Sammy and Jan to knock down to Skippy because of the bad conditions.

I have more hope for seeing Hutchinson tomorrow if we play the 3 up top. VoH will tire and he's the only sub to use if we're chasing the game unless we have a change of formation.

i talked about the 4-3-3 at the start off the thread.mybe wgs was watching

but i hope he starts with hutchy instead off jan, even mc court or koki.our strike force would be more mobile :50:

I think this game might be too important to bring in someone untried, but I dunno. . .I've not got much time for Samaras, so i wouldnt mind if hutchieson was brought in for him.

433 against feyenoord in preseason has been our best performance a season. And we got a 3-1 victory out of that. Sammy out wide with aiden out wide and jan I. The middle. If he doesn't go with flair then expect to see skippy take wide left. Would rather see crosas in the centre mid with brown on the right and robson on the left of midfield. Back four ususal suspects.

robson is injured.brown and flood are certain to start in midfield.id imagine its straight choice between hartley and crosas if he is playing 3 in midfield.because off the pitch,id imagine hartley would be favourite.

Sammy has a massive tendancy to wander out onto the right flank anyway and putting Skippy on the left would let him cut in on his favoured right foot. So if we are going 4-3-3 I'd imagine something like:

    Skippy......JVoH......Sammy

2 strange things though - why is Strachan going for this NOW when the 4-3-3 was popular about 2-3 seasons ago with the top teams (and now isn't so popular) and where does his goldenchild Naka fit into a 4-3-3 long-term?

GS does need to try something different, with most spl teams he could get away with a 3-4-3 & that could include naka in the midfield for some service into the forwards. Important game today, lets show the buns "We shall not be moved" Hail hail

The reasons could be because of the pitch and the need to miss out the midfield looking for a couple of players who can win flick ons and also the fact that 9 times out of 10 Motherwell play the same way.

So long as this doesn't end up being a simple punt the ball from defence to jan eerh chance. Although one less in the middle, don't mean we miss it out completly.

Dont think it will be a pretty game but we need to get oot there and score the goals, hold them back and for McManus to try and put in a decent shift!!
