It could be worse, we could have had strachan coming on afterwards and telling us how marvellous we were and gary caldwell had another great game :icon_mrgreen:.

At least Lennon came out and more or less told the players there heads were up their own *`s after last week and this is simply not good enough. Only Celtic can do it the hard way i dont know of another club who put their fans through torture, heart attacks every other week.

Well, for me, when you look at the replay, you see that the 'well player's trailing leg when trying to go forward, just clips Izzy's knee or shin, and sometimes when you are trying to run forward, that is all it takes to lose your action.I think he was happy to go down, but the first part of his fall i think looked natural....although if it was on the street he would have probably managed to stay on his feet.Anyway...just my opinion. We got beat regardless of the penalty!:38:

not really regardless of the penalty. I am sure everyone expected celtic to get back in the game before that- they may not have- but that was a huge influence on the end result. Consdidering it was just after h.t. and there was plenty time left

Team has been excellent since new year but today was obviously a poor performance. No coincidence for me that our form has been good since kayal came back from injury and dipped when he was out today.
Can't be too critical of most of the guys for having an off day but there are 3 who just haven't convinced me- forster, ki and stokes.

dont agree with those who are blaming the pitch or ref. We just were poor. OUr CM pairing of Ki and Ledley doesnt work (and Lenny should know that), our CHs were poor and individuals like Stokes played poorly. I think our problems largely were due to our CMs though. We have to have Brown in there is Kayal is out. Those are the only MF we have who are up for the battles.

Why do you only post when we play badly, and seem to enjoy the fact that we aren't doing well? :97:

We were pish today, we got our tactics wrong as we tried to play to much football on that bog of a park. We should have brought on murhpy and sammy ( instead of Jaurez) and pumped the ball up the park looking to get on the end of the knocks from these two players.

Our style of play just doenst work on that sort of pitch. I've not lost my confidence after this game. Maybe this woke us and I hope that does us well in the last part of the season.

I was sitting right at the front of the phil odonnell stand today and honestly widny have let cows onto that pitch the day. They * at motherwell should be took to task over this coz its happening every * year. not blaming that for our defete tho, we were just pish. Motherwell were more up for it from the start!

After 20mins Lenny should have realised that we wouldnt get anywhere trying to play our normal game on a disgrace of a park like that. Should have got big murphy on and hit it long to him for him to hold it up.

Dont know what the * stokes was all about today??!! Didnt look * interested. Something tells me he's gettin a bit big for his boots! but to be fair maybe the whole team were a bit like that today!

    * GUTTED!!!:54:

ONLY we could shoot ourselves in the foot after last week. Lets face it if we do eventually go on and lose the league again we only have to blame one thing and thats US. We have no consistency - It does show you one thing how much we rely on Beram Kayal cos Ki & Ledley have not done much in a celtic jersey. No fight today to match there kick and rush game today. And as for the defence am sorry but Majstorovic,Mulgrew, and wilson are not the long term option here. they are only one game away from a disaster and if its not mulgrew then its one of the other`s. Our keeper leaves a lot to be desired. The only guy who has impressed me is commons he has done more in 4 weeks than Ki & Ledley have done put together. We better not drop anymore points as ive said the league WONT need to extend the season for the huns backlog of games the only people who can * this up is us.

Was working today, gutted when the result came through, especially as I was serving a hun and he happened to celebrate like the league was won. *!

Bad day at the office, it's a shame because we were on some run there and playing some amazing football. Now we've let them back in. :54: Knew we couldn't go on playing the way we have been, a bad performance/result was going to come at one point and hopefully that is it out the way now and we can bounce back in style. Starting on Wednesday night, even if it's the cup, winning would obviously be a huge lift again.

It's a real pity but it has undone some of the good work from last week, we have now handed the Huns some hope.

No doubt it was a real off day for the vast majority of the team, yes the pitch was difficult, but I still expected Celtic to run out winners.

I believe we really missed Kayal in midfield, personally I think Ki slows the game down too much, I think this helped Motherwell re-organise at the back, whereas Kayal picks the pass that unlocks oppoents defence.

Obviously I am as disappointed as anyway else. Not just with the defeat but the manner of it. I will grant you the pitch was a joke and the pk was very soft. But we still should have had more then enough in our locker to at least get something out of that game. A lot of bad performances throughout the team. Mulgrew who has been excellent gift wrapped the first goal and had a terrible night. Our full backs who have been so dangerous going forward were not an influence in the game at all. Ki who has been very good on the ball simply didn't deal with the conditions and we just never really consistently got at the Motherwell back line. Stokes, Hooper and Samaras never were able to link up and open up their backline with the kind of fluid football we have seen recently. Again yes the pitch has a lot to do with our lack of quality with the ball but that simply wasn't good enough. We will have to have one heck of an improvement come Wednesday against the huns if we are to reach the cup quarter-finals.

Lenny handled the after match interview very well, and I have no doubt that the players will be up for the cup replay

Sore one today. One of those days and the players will learn every game is a Cup Final for the teams we come up against and if you take your eye of the ball for a second then you get punished.

Still a long way to go and a lot of work to do if we're to be champions this season!

Complacent today we won't be again this season!:shamrock:
