Only just got time to watch this now (been a tiring bank holiday weekend) and just finished the first half. Was expecting Ambrose to have a shocker from the comments but he's had a good game so far other than the error. His mistake (shades of Juve) cost us a goal but his pace and tenacity also saved a goal when Kayal lost the ball. If you watch a replay of the goal, Sutton gives him a slight nudge, which is why he looks like he misjudges the flight- just like that Juve game. It appears to be a specific weakness in Efe's game that I hope Mjällby irons out of him before Europe next season. What a save their keeper made for that penalty! Genius from Stokes at the end there. Commentator trying to claim he didn't mean it. :87:
Good game so far but I still think we lack imagination when playing against these kind of tactics.

    On to the second half.

    * *, Balde's on and there's still nearly 20 minutes left! I'll finally get to see if he's any good or not! :smiley-laughing002:

Now you mention it, it didn't do all that bad, in glimpses he shows good ability to lose his man in a one on one situation, hope he gets more time on pitch I believe he will do well for us.

Fair result. Grudging credit to McCall, whose tactics (both initially and the changes he made after we scored our third) successfully showed up some worrying weaknesses we seem to have had for ages now. He seems to have worked out the same weaknesses that our European opponents throughout 2013 did!

He remains an enigma. Flashes of real promise and flashes of real Cascarino. Jury still out I think. Maybe next season.
