Scott McDonald is the first name that comes to mind. Signed for 700k, great scoring record in Scotland, some massive goals in Europe in champions league qualifiers and against the likes of Milan and Man UTD and a couple of winners against rangers. And ended up selling him for 3.5m.

He struggled in his first season a bit but for sure he was superb in his second season. Pity he didn't stay longer.

O'Riley for me. Christie was good for us once he came back from Aberdeen but I just feel that O'Riley is even better.

Didn't Strachan take him to Middlesbrough with a couple of others? I was surprised that we sold him at the time. His last minute winner against Milan will live long in our memories, what a game that was.

McGeady, I think he was absolutely brilliant and was good for 10 goals and 20 assists a season pretty much, don't think he was appreciated then or now for how good a player he was

He was and is appreciated, but he was a * which tarnished it a bit.

    It’s O’Riley and it’s not close.

At Bournemouth he’s starting to shine but he’s their Maeda. Works like *, pressing all over the park and stopped trying to be flashy.

Andreas hinkel. Can't remember him ever making a mistake. Covered good ground and whilst never flashy just got his job done without incident. I think because he never done anything flashy he gets overlooked

    Absolutely loved him.

I remember people used to have this habit of calling all the French boys moany, lazy or claim attitude problems. It was weird at the time and it’s weird now.

He never reached his potential but his ability can’t be questioned. Plus Lazio will live in the memory forever.

Still think Maloney was massively underrated, he was out most of the season in Oneills last year then came back and had a amazing season under strachan.

Javier Sanchez Broto. Barely got a chance behind Douglas and Hedman but any time I seen him I thought he was better than both.

Yeah the lazy thing was a false narrative at the time and it’s become a Mandela effect thing now. Ntcham was quality.

Maybe one that got away rather than underrated, I thought Filip Benkovic in the 20 games before his injury was an absolute standout.
I wish we had picked him up a little later on when his price dropped but was surprised/disappointed at our seeming lack of interest.
Now at Udinese, on loan to Trabzonspor

    Anyone mentioned Stokes?

6 seasons. 43rd all-time scorer for Celtic. 76 goals. 64 assists on top of that.

All at the same time as fighting for time with Hooper, Sammy, Griffiths etc

Could have been even better if he wasn't so mental.

The problem with Stokes is that he didn’t really do anything when it really mattered. His European stats and stats v Rangers are poor. Don’t really remember stand out performances in massive games.

So I think he’s rated just right.

Bobby Petta! His first season under MON was amazing. How he tricked Ricksen in the 6-2 game was amazing!

Loved Petta, one of my all time favourites. If memory serves he got called dto the Dutch squad a couple of times and got injured and thongs just didn't work out for him after

Maeda gets a lot of unfair criticism.. ye he's raw as * but he has stood up in a lot of big games for us and you can't question his desire, attitude and honesty
