Jarosik wasn't crap; he was just never played in his right position.

It's sickening the amount of abuse Agathe took. He was a great player for us; his performance against Juve has got to still give Zambrotta nightmares.

Neil Lennon got a bit of stick for saying he contributed nothing to the team, but when he was missing it was obvious what he was there for

If you read the Kayal thread comparing Kayal to Lennon it's clear a lot of people still think that.

    * me right off, Neil Lennon is a Celtic Legend.

He was poor most of the time, he wasn't under rated anyway.

Strachan was trying to play him as a winger or a striker. He was a centre midfielder.

Still popped up with a few important goals for us. I'm still raging we never gave him a try in his right position.

Scott Brown without a doubt and that is over several decades of watching. I also thought at the time that their was an irrational blind spot for Kenny Miller. He clearly is a good player and I think the goals would have eventually come. Naylor get too much criticism. He had periods when he was as good as any natural left back we have had in decades. He also had periods when he was a mixed bag but fans tend to magnify his really bad period. Basically for some reason a lot of fans only recognise his brilliant periods and his dire periods and everything in between is for some reason also treated as though it was dire. That is rubbish IMO. Caldwell is very underrated. Paired with a monster stopper tyoe, a player like Gary would be perfect for Celtic. Problem is he was never paired with anyone that great.

Kenny Miller? You're having a laugh. He is one of the most awful player's I have ever seen at Celtic.

Second touch was always a header, I still don't know how he managed to do that every time. The ball would bounce off his foot and go in the air! Missed sitters here there and everywhere. The only reason he has learned to be a good striker is down to Ally McCoist.

I agree with Brown and Caldwell. Would have loved to see Caldwell paired with Bobo.

Your missing my point he wasn't unde rated, he never done anythng great for us to be under rated, imo at times I was pulling out my hair watching him. Though he did score a nice goal in europe.

He was tried but he couldnt handle the defensive side of the game or the lack of space in the SPL. He was brought in to replace Lenny but he just wasnt good at the stuff a DM needs to be and Lenny was brought back after a few games. Still, a combination of his contribution in the CL and his resale meant no harm was done by his short stint with us. Similar case with Donati. He just was not up to the fight in the big SPL matches. Both technically good players but not SPL types. The sad truth is you need real fighters in the CM in the SPL. You need a Lenny/Broony/Hartley/Robson/Kayal type or even two in the CM. You especially need them if you play the sort of 4-2-4 type formations that all our managers since MON seem to favour.

I think he was. Hence everybody saying he was 'pish'. He wasn't pish, he was misused and done decent when called upon.

His goals against Hearts were very important as far as the League was concerned.

Gunt I disagree with being brought in to replace Lennon; he was there to make up for the lack of goals from midfield that Stan Petrovs sale brought about.

Jarosik has always been an attacking midfielder.

A great example of the Miler blindspt IMO. He has a CV, medals and caps (not to mention total career transfers) that shows the reality rather than opinions. He didnt click a lot of the time with us but WGS lost patience with him quite quickly. Wattie stuck with him through a similar very bad spell at the hunsters but he came (Very) good for them. He has always been a good player and he is also a big game player who tends to score in OF games, Europe, for Scotland etc. If we had not sold him we would definately have won 4 in a row because he was exactly what we needed as we ran out of energy in that run in.

    Caldwell was a great player.

    So was McManus.

They have 5 league wins between them

They played together and were excellent. The one thing that made them look like * was Glenn Loovens. Whenever either of them were paired with Glenda, they had the work of 2 centre halves to do coz loovens is and always will be *

Caldwell could stand up and take responsibility. In himself he was a decent defender and a good starting point to start attacks.

Everybody says we won the league because of Hartley and Robson but in that run Gary Caldwell was our best player.

McManus and Caldwell together is not a good partnership. Too slow. I maintain if we paired Caldwell with Bobo we would have done far better. A fast absolute beast in the air Bobo Balde and the more positional defender who isn't afraid to mix it in Caldwell.

Although there would be some occasional clangers with them two.

Was a bit gutted when we let Heid go. He started off atrocious for us but ended up our best defender with no change of attitude from the Celtic support.

Djimi Traore has a Champions League Medal. Ronaldo (Brazillian) doesn't. I don't take much trust in things like that.

Kenny Miller is fantastic for a counter attacking team, Ally McCoist has taught him how to wrap his foot around the ball and place his shots. Before that he just blasted it, most of the time wide. His work rate and speed does him well.

Kenny Miller finished with a total of 4 goals for us one season, is that a Celtic standard striker?

If we had a better defence we would have won 4 in a row.

Again the CV trumps opinions. He has been captain of club and country, played in CL runs to the last 16s, has 2 SPl medals, has played in the EPL for the last couple of seasons. Really poor players do not get CVs like that. Caldwell was an exceptional ball playing CH who was often paired with poor partners. He was by far our best CH in the last 5 years.
