Cantona was absolutely brilliant. And I really don't like Man United.

The most overrated player I've ever come across is Rooney.

Two good seasons, 2 good games in the group stages of Euro 2004, and ridiculously inconsistent.

How many world-class players would be dropped for a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid? None, is the answer.

I wouldn't want him to go to Chelsea because Mata, Hazard etc deserve someone better.

I'd agree with that, actually disappointed that this will be his last season at Barca.

 

Using all of these - :smiley-laughing002: - for disagreeing with people's opinions is patronising as * but some of the players mentioned on here, * me.


Going back to Terry, I think he's a great ball-winning defender but needs a Carvalho or Ferdinand to sweep up behind him. People trot out this "always gives 100%" pish but imo that's the minimum a professional footballer should be doing.

And he isn't as good against world-class players.

As for Gerrard, not as consistent as Lampard, and slight not as good anyway imo. Lampard is far from just a goalscorer and can play in CM to a very high standard. Gerrard needs an Alonso and Mascherano beside him.

An England fan told me recently he wonders about the pitch in CM and leaves his partner a bit isolated.

 

I'd agree that Valdes would be the most overrated goalkeeper. He's hardly bad, but I've heard people comparing him to Casillas, who is the superior goalkeeper in every way. 148 caps to 14 says it all.

 

Casillas isn't superior in every way but he is about 5x the keeper Valdes is.

 

I agree with this wholeheartedly. Decent player but nothing more. I've been laughed at for this opinion but I also think Clarance Seedorf was vastlt overrated.

Danny Welbeck, the amount of people I've heard referring to him as world class is ridiculous.

 

Rooney, moaned about a lack of ambition so put in a transfer request. Bought RVP who outshone him so throws the teddies and puts in another, Peaked in his early twenties and was good but never dominated games. Not world class imo.

Ahh, I thought last year he was far and away the best player in England. He'd never get an award down there though.

 

For me kaka is one of the best midfielders of his generation, outstanding player, hes in my all time xi.

 

He's never been the best player at United or even the best in his position in England. Overrated to * owing to his longevity, as admirable as it is.
