Pique is a good CB but he's not one of those good at covering his fellow CB like Terry or Puyol.

I think English players are hugely overrated

In various periods, the likes of Michael Owen, Peter Croutch, Rio Ferdinand, Wayne Rooney, and now Danny Welbeck have all been built up to ridiculous extents. All good players of course. None of them at any point have ever been as good as what the media seems to think, and go missing at the very top level.

    Yes:50:

Henry, Bergkamp etc who blitzed the English League were over-hyped as well because of the lack of quality down South compared with the German, Italian and Spanish Leagues.

:smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002: That's just nonsense. The Premiership was full of top players in the late 90's and early 00's. Henry 'blitzed' La Liga when he was past his peak, must have been down to a lack of quality? They were both amazing players, to call them overrated is just retarded and either shows a severe lack of football knowledge or bitterness towards anything English related, probably the latter.

Henry and Bergkamp where 2 of the best players in the world, in no way where they overhyped.

Henry was a Barcelona Bench Warmer. Fact!

Bergkamp and Henry were great players but not the best of a generation the way we're lead to believe.

And Henry wasn't any good in any World Cups for France and was pretty poor at Juventus.

It's a bit like the Brian Laudrup scenario. Unbelievable in the Scotland but average in Italy.

Bergkamp scored 11 goals in almost 60 games for Inter as well.

He wasn't in his first two seasons there and by his third he's lot all his pace.

He was 30 when he joined Barcelona, and this was a player who predominantly relied on his pace. Also he had a pretty decent scoring record despite this.

As for Bergkamp he was definitely up there with the very best of his generation, he was absolutely incredible.

Henry scored a hat-trick in the San Siro in the CL, along with many others, thats the one that stands out.
Bergkamp scored loads of wonder goals, the one against Newcastle, not many players in the world could have scored.

Delusional if you think the two of them where not up there with the best.

Shevchenko, Veron, Deco couldnt hack in the EPL, going by your justification that would mean they are also over-rated.

Barcelona bench warmer? :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002: How did he manage to score 45 goals in his first 2 seasons then?

He wasn't good in any World Cups? :56: He scored twice at France 98 as a youngster, and 3 in Germany 06. You don't half spout a lot of pish mate, you clearly know little about football.

He only scored around 30 League goals at Barca or something lol. Honestly, he was frustrating to watch in that side.

Nah, he wasn't very good for a striker at World Cups. I completely stand by that.

Bergkamp was a scorer of great goals. That's correct.

Veron was a player I never rated highly. Deco and Shevchenko were world class but clearly joined the wrong English side at the wrong times.

The best EPL players in the last 10-20 years have been Beckham, Keane, Ronaldo, Bale, Klinsman, Beardsley etc. Players of that ilk.

I believe these guys at their best could walk into any club in the world.

OK, so how about Forlan, was crap at United.

Went to Spain became a legend practially.
The same could be said about Henry at Juventus.

Forlan's another player I like but think is over-hyped.
