he tried to replace him with Gamboa who has a bit of pace but is not very good.

 

The fact Hull offered him a new deal but he turned it down and asked for permission to come out and meet Brendan in Austria and hold talks speaks volumes imo.

Hope it gets done.

 

Im pretty certain we will continue to play the 3-4-2-1 we mostly played at the end of last season. Its the perfect formation for Ajer, Boyata, Forrest, Tierney, Rogic, McGregor and Edouard. The only positions we really need to improve is right-centre-back, we badly need another Boyata type quick guy there.

That fits us perfect with McGregor and Edouard competing for the role behind Dembele from the left as they are both good in there linking play. Ajer in the central role at the back using the ball with Bitton as back-up in that position. We have Hendry and Lustig as back-up right-centre backs. Hayes and McGregor who can cover for Tierney on the left and Tierney who can drop into left centre back.

Morgan and Christie could also play in the Rogic and Edouard/McGregor roles if they are kept.

The only places we don't have depth is competition for Forrest, he's the only capable right wing back so Odubajo would compete there and we don't have another Boyata type quick centre-half to play on the right of a back 3 which is a must so that Forrest isn't under as much pressure to defend as Lustig struggles against pace and also plays too robotic and safe and a lot of the time doesn't feed Forrest quick enough as his ball control and turning is too slow.

Odubajo if he signs will allow us to be more flexible with formation again as well, we are badly lop-sided currently as Forrest always has to have an eye on Lustig and play from deeper which makes it easier for teams to concentrate on our left which probably led to the formation change to begin with. If Odubajo was right-back in a 4 then Sinclair may be able to come back into contention as we'll carry a threat from both sides and be more balanced.

How long ago did he reject their offer, you know?

We've no doubt been tracking him well before and lining him up..

I'd prefer Boyata 9n the right and a left centre half in..

Boyata isn't comfortable out wide. Central as he's quick and dominant in the air or right central actually as Ajer is extremely uncomfortable and can be done for pace, on the turn out wide..

Another pacey, strong composed centre half would make a huge difference..

 

Aye 2 year's wages, helping him build back up....to then reject a new deal. I'd be fuming..

Especially when he's a good player..

A club in crisis though off the pitch so can't really grumble or knock a club like us back, I don't think..

 

Aye if you search Odubajo on twitter a few Hull counts have tweeted the players to have rejected new contract offers the past 2 seasons

The club has injury insurance - it cost them nothing.

 

30 yard goals, dancing by about 3 players and sticking it in the corner at Ibrox and oh aye Rabona's, and not looking too shabby at the world's most prestigious football competition. Aye total liability.

I think this can be a good move, hopefully push him to get even better, same for KT who I thought went down in performance level too.

 

Never seen the lad play but going by social media he was highly rated by the Hull fans before he got injured. Hopefully he does a Craig Gordon and make a comeback from his injuries. We are doing the right thing having a look at him before we offer him a contract, the last thing we want is another boerrigter.

 

Same age as Robertson, both at Hull at the same time, lost 2 years due to injury, you just never know..

I'm hardly jumping out my seat, but there's no harm in taking an English youth player on trial for a gander. If he were to sign, stays fits and contributes, we would be in the position to punt for profit next season. If he shines, as he's English, his value would soar.

Gamboa will leave, a backup is needed at the very least.

 

Mark Warburton ex hun boss has came out and said that Hull rejected £12 million from Everton for him before he got injured. There must have been a decent player in there before he got injured.

 

Warburton said he could match Demarai Gray for pace he must be rapid then.

Said it was when Gray was at Birmingham ,said Odubajo is the fastest player he's seen.
