just a wee article form todays stv sprot

Morten Rasmussen admits his time at Celtic so far has been an education in football and insists he is not disappointed at having to fight for his position. The Dane was signed in January by Tony Mowbray and despite seeing his boss sacked he maintains Celtic is a “great team and a great club”.
The 25-year-old striker has backed interim manager Neil Lennon to continue as Hoops boos and appreciates all he has learned during his four months at the club.
"My time here's been great. It's a great team, a great club and I have some good team-mates, so I've been happy to be here,” he told The Sun.
"Of course you want to play all the time, but I knew when I came here it's a big club and of course you have to learn things first, so it's not like I'm disappointed or anything.
    CELTIC LATEST NEWS:

"You're always becoming a better player. Even if you don't play as much, you can still learn from training.
"I think it was expected I wouldn't be in the final Denmark squad, but you never know. I just have to be ready and maybe I can get the chance."
Rasmussen has been impressed with Lennon’s reign as boss and with an SPL record of eight wins from eight games he feels the former Celtic captain should be given a crack in the hot-seat in the long-term.
"Life under the new manager has been good. I liked the old boss, but I like this boss as well,” added the Dane. "Hopefully he'll stay, but we don't know.

"The new manager is great at setting us up before games and giving us the right mentality to play. He is a clever coach as well. His training exercises are great.
"I think he's done enough to get the job, but it's not my decision. I'm happy with him though and I think the other guys are happy with him too.

"I look at him as the manager now and I think the other guys are doing that as well”

I feel if Rasmussen gets regular starts he will score a lot of goals for us, a strikers main aim is to get the ball in the back of the net, Rasmussen will do that more than most and he brings something different to the team.

I think Rasmussen is an improvement on Scott McDonald. They are both the same type of player, a poacher. However Ramsussen brings a little extra to the table, because he's good in the air and better at holding the ball up.

We've been crying out for this sort of striker for a long time, now we've got him I think. Maybe he will get more chances when Robbie heads back down south, I hope he can become a first team regular for us, he's the sort of player I like.

the only problem is his lack of pace, but that doesnt affect a poacher's ability to succeed though...

A real fox in the box, will watch him with intent in the world cup, hope they do well. Next season is his crunch season, really hope to see him at the top of the spl leading goalscorers next season, we have been crying out for a goal poacher since Skippy left. From what I have seem so far I like what I see, lack of pace shouldn't be a huge problem if he uses his loaf!

He looks decent to me when he plays, lots of energy, grafts, good in the air and theres definately the poachers instinct there.Glad to read he's not moaning about his lack of starts and he seems very level headed. He's had his settling period so it will be interesting to see how well he does next season.

He is in the 30 man squad, but only 4th striker choise as it seems. He will have to proof something in the "base camp".

Second choice... behind a signed lead striker.

Would definitely play him as a poacher with another striker , he needs to prove hes not just a super sub, but i like his style as he is strong and has fantastic positioning and looks like he could put a few past he huns by brushing off their defenders and smashin it past whatever lkoser they have between the sticks :50:

    Rasmussen

I think the jury is still out on Rasmussen and the few glimpses we have seen of Rasmussen this year, he has looked like he has been towing a caravan behind him.He didn't really get a chance under Mowbray to be fair, but any player who dozen't keep himself fit over the close season has only got himself to blame in my books. It wouldn't surprise me at all to hear that he is the next one to go.

would love to see him get a run in the team, i think he can score at least 20 goals a season. but now that hooper has came in it looks like he wont get that chance. but hooper will also get 20 goals a season so its all good

Don't expect to see him go this transfer window. He does look slow but he's not the type of player who will chase every ball. Though, I think Lenny will give him the chance, in my opinion, he deserves. However I do agree with you with when you say a player who doesn't keep himself fit only has himself to blame. Again, don't expect to see him go.

Yeah for some reason his reputation has absolutely plummeted. I think the so-so pre-season hasn't helped him and his name popping up in rumours also is a bit frustrating.

He looks to me to be a Kris Boyd type finisher and got us some important goals last term. He surely deserves a chance in the team.
