The daily record are saying that him signing is there "exclusive", even though I put this thread up nearly 21 hours ago. They only had this story on there website at 9am this morning. That means I am officially better than any of there reporting hacks, there paper has become completely obsolete.:56:

To be honest i would not be sure if he would work well alongside fortune.Therein lies the problem.Because fortune cost so much mogga is really going to have to play him more often than not or look a * for buying him in the first place. If it was just Fortune upfront with Rasmussen left to their own devices i would be inclined to say it would not work particularly well. If we could somehow keep Fortune closer to the box, use his strength, get him passing well and use the wings more either in a 4 4 2 or 3 5 2 then we could be on to a winner. Rasmussen is great with his head so good balls coming in from the wing is the perfect solution to get goals in my opinion.

Tony Mowbray?s striker bid is nearly a Dane deal - Evening Times | Sport | Editor's Picks (ignore) :icon_mrgreen:

Celtic were today closing in on the £1.5million signing of 24-year-old Danish striker Morten Rasmussen.

The Brondby forward plays with the name ‘Duncan’ on his shirt – he is nicknamed after former Rangers striker Duncan Ferguson.
And it is believed Rasmussen, who stands at 6ft 1in, has been on the radar of Tony Mowbray throughout the season.

The Hoops boss had revealed in SportTimes earlier this week he was still hopeful of adding another couple of signings to his squad before the end of the transfer window.
The striker will be something of a coup for Celtic, having hit 52 goals in 111 games for Brondby.

PSV Eindhoven were set to enter the bidding for the player, but the striker’s arrival will be a massive boost for Mowbray, who has been desperate for a clinical finisher.

Goals are goals. We don't need another player to make the chances, we need a player to take them.

If this fella is the guy, great. If not, look elsewhere. We need a goalscorer though.

No chance he is playing with the name 'Duncan' on his back in the hoops.

I think the guy is worth a shot, can't see him being any better than McDonald though... And hopefully not as bad at finishing as Fortuné.

Hi. I'm a Brøndby IF fan and from Denmark.

I'll say it'll be a big loose for BIF if they sold Duncan, he's really a good player. He got is up and down times and that's actually sad but it looks like he have found the shape again. But now he'll probably go to Celtic - Hope not.

I seems like he need the final "GO", he's like holding back I know he got more and that means he'll be good enough for Celtic :)

    /Jonni.

Another thing worth noting is there is a lot of truth about his temperament. He is a bit of a nut to be honest but i don't neccesarily see it as a bad thing. If anything he would spark a bit of life back into the team. * help any of the huns if they take a swipe at him :icon_mrgreen:

Yeah that puzzled me too, after 1min 30ish of that youtube video it looks to be a penalty as everyone else is behind the 18yard line but then the penalty taker taps it to Rasmussen........ surely if it was an in-direct free kick they would have players on the goal line ?????

One question - is he anywhere near the Danish natonal team? Would he be close to a fist pick?

Read 1 or 2 pages back - it is legal. I don't think it's very respected amongst proffesionals though and it was a penalty. Henry and Pires tried something similar but Cruijff I believe started it.

Yes he's near the danish national team. Can't remember the match but Jon Dahl Tomassen, Bendtner and Morten Norstand couldn't come. So the 2 Brøndby IF forwards was playing that match, Duncan was in that game.

So i'll say he's like be number 5. I think he'll be better, he need a bit more routine.

    :) You're welcome.

Thanks for coming to the site :bbpd:

Is he a fans favourite at Brondby? How does he compare with other strikers in the Danish league?

Could you tell us a bit about his style?

    Hey all :bbpd:

I'm as big a fan of Brøndby, like the lot of you are of Celtic.

And on Brøndbys fan site, many are crying there eyes out for loosing our best striker.
To give you a little summary of Morten, no he is not the fastest in world. And he might not have the skills of Messi with the ball.. But * it the kid can score goals! - and is believed to be one of the biggest talents in Danish football on his position.
Atm he is in the shape of his life, and have never played better. Its not true he only scores against lower ranked teams. He scored against Fc Copenhagen this fall, and only world class goalkeeping from Roy Carroll kept him from scoring against OB (Odense) when we played them at home.

On the down side, he has been injured quite alot.. But as said he has played a full half season now with no trouble at all, and is as fit as ever.

New addition this half season to his game has also been that he works more for the team now.. In terms of dropping a bit back to receive passes and play to the wings from there.
He has also been playing a key role for us in defending on set pieces.

So all-in-all I would say your getting a great player, ofc he might need a little time to adjust to Scottish football.. But once he does, he can easily be fav amongst the fans. :50:

    Last thing for me...
ChristianH --- are you a fan of Fc Copenhagen, cuz you surely sound like it tbh.

    Have a nice day all.

From a sad fan that wishes the best for Morten in the future if this goes through.

Even though I'm danish I don't support any danish teams. So it isn't really influence my opinion at all.

Celtic is the only team for me.

I just don't like Morten Rasmussen as a person nor footballer. Especially if his arrival at Celtic Park means a goodbye to our best striker, Scott McDonald.

Thanks for the insight there. I'm all for this signing especially at 1.5mil. We need a goalscorer and this lad seems to fit the bill.
