Have to agree with a few posts here, 3 -4 million - your having a laugh!! If he continues to play like he is your defiantly talking double if not treble that! Great player!

 

Realistically if bids did come in for him they would be similar to the ones already paid for SPL players, Hutton 9, McGeady 9, Gordon 9, so if bids did come in it wouldn't be more than 10 and thats if he continues this form for the rest of the season.

We want to keep our good players and trust me the board would knock back any bids of 3-5 mill just like they would for certain other players in the squad but double that to 7-10 mill and the board would seriously consider the offers for any of our players.

 

Glad to see so many people in this thread agreeing with the fact that anything under maybe £12m for Izzy would be robbing us It shouldnt be underestimated how good this guy is and with much shitier players (Hutton) going for £9m that would make Izzy double that imo. I think Izaguirre should be kept unless a bid of £15million comes in for the following reasons :


1. Quality left backs are extremely rare. Apart from Cole, Bale, Lahm and Evra there are none better,
2. It's time to show the arrogant EPL clubs that they'll have to pay top dollar for our players. This will be beneficial as when the big clubs start coming in for Kayal, Ki, Hooper, Brown and Rogne, they will know we won't back down over transfer fees if they see us standing up to the "biggest club in the world".
3. TV revenue down there dictates transfer policy. They can afford to pay inflated fees as shown only recently. Even if Izaguirre isn't worth £15million, lets command that price. He is our asset after all. We have him under contract and can decide what to do with him, as arrogant as that sounds.
4. We don't want to be seen as a feeder club.

Exactly, we should milk them * dry. Charlie Adam isn't worth £10 million because he's Scottish, meanwhile Andy Carroll has half a decent season and is worth £35million? We aren't a selling club, if Man Utd want Izzy then he's good enough to play for their first team, they would happily pay £15 million if they were signing him from a Spanish team to slot right into their strongest eleven.

Playing well for 6 months in the SPL does not make you the 5th best LB in the world btw. That is just mental.

I hate the EPL and there arrogance as well, but we have to face the fact that we are technically a feeder club for them, as any player that joins us these days view us as a step up the ladder. We, or shall I say the SPL is far away from the peak of world football, so any player who plays with us with ambition to win in Europe and to compete in better leagues would have to move on sometime if they are deemed 'good enough' to play for the elite clubs. The only way we can move away from feeder club status is to regularly get into the latter stages of Europe and to be honest, how many of us see that happening any-time soon?

 

You never know, we've been playing exceptionally well recently, if we keep it up it's definitely possible.

 

If Allan Hutton is worth £9m at Right back then Izaguirre is woth at least £12M because answer this, how many good natural (left footed) left backs are there in the world, who can attack and defend as well as Izaguirre can? I can't even name 5.
