Carlo is a sound guy and it is not in his nature to do something like that for nothing.

Who was the guy? - Could you explain in what way this would alter the seriousness of beating someone into a coma

Why did he do it? - Why indeed did he do it? I find it hard to come up with a reason why I would attempt to kill someone outside of a gym.

Was it pre-meditated? - Pre-meditation would only make this serious crime worse.

Of couse he is inocent until proven guilty and there may yet facts revealed that in some way go to a least explaining the reason for the attack.

What I have the biggest problem with is the posters who seem to accept he done what the paper said he done but still say he should be given a second chance.

    Another why question.

Why has this story only just came out if it happened back in July?

The "pre-meditated" issue will not arise in a case of assault or culpable homicide, only murder. For assault the relevant defences are self defence or defence of others. It seems that if he did put the guy in a coma the court will hold that he acted disproportionately to the level of threat. This is a very unfortunate incident and brings even more unwelcome media attention to the club. Each case like this should be assessed subjectively by the club. I.E If he's a first rate player and regrets his actions, keep him.

it's actually not even that hard to beat someone into a coma if really everything goes wrong. sometimes even a "normal" punch can be deadly if really everything goes wrong.

Plus not guilty until proven guilty.

A coma can be the result of even 1 punch it all depends on if the guy who is punched falls down and hits his head on something. As the guy who knows Carlo said the paper blew it out of all proportion. So who's to say it wasnt a 1 or 2 punch fight that just ended in the poor guy being in a coma for 3 months.

I for one(and not the only one) will not be condemning someone before i know hard facts.

Exactly. He wasn't even the main aggressor.. and it definitely wasn't pre-meditated

Main aggressor or not he shouldnt be getting involved in this kind of thing should he?

Not only is it a seriously awful thing to do, but given that he is a representative of Celtic Football Club - it is incredibly stupid.

However, we all know what the Daily Record is like dont we? But if it does turn out to be true - and he is guilty - why shouldnt he have a second chance?
If he shows genuine remorse and a willingness to show it wont happen again then he deserves the chance to prove himself.

It doesn't make a difference in the eyes of the law and it shouldn't even matter in this discussion about his future at the club. A doctrine called the "Think Skull Rule" means you have to accept responsiblity for the injury caused by you assaulting them. I hope the club support him if its clear he regrets the whole thing.

It's impossible to say anything until there is more information... especially a verdict.

Everyone else is going on the same thing, a tabloid newspaper article. If he is indeed a nutcase that batters folk randomly in public then yes he deserves to be sacked but until we establish that then does he not deserve a second chance?

Whay do I ask?? James McGregor is my little cousin, he is not a ned, doesnt go out looking for trouble, He was attacked by ur "pal", Oh and something the paper didnt mention....... Monti was not alone when he attacked my cousin, he and 20 plus pals were kicking my cousin about the street while he was unconsious, so please tell me, what circumstances merit that??
