Southampton are an interesting outfit as I'm sure some brain dead English clubs will sweep up their players and pay then silly money.

But it is reported that the players have 40% wage reduction clause should they get relegated, which obviously has now happened.

Potentially some of their players may not be as unaffordable as we first think.

I'd be intrigued by the idea of bring Armstrong back as he at least seems to have a bit more directness in his play that could help Ange where as guys like O'Riley, Turnbull and maybe Mooy are little too rigid.

I wouldn't be adverse to Maitland-Niles either, think there could be a couple players that wouldn't be bad signings for us if it were something we looked into

Southampton midfielder Moi Elyounoussi has confirmed he will leave the club as a free agent at the end of the month - opening up a possibility of a return to Celtic.

The Norwegian had two seasons at Celtic Park and impressed but they were unable to get a permanent deal done and he returned to Southampton. He forced his way into the Saints team and it attracted interest from Leicester City last summer, with Brendan Rodgers keen on bringing him to the King Power.

And with Rodgers now set to take over at Celtic as the new manager, Elyounoussi’s Southampton exit could open up the possibility of the Norwegian returning north of the border if Rodgers can persuade him to join him in Glasgow.

Speaking to TV2, he said: "I'm done. We've agreed on that. The contract expires at the end of June, and then I'm a Bosman player.

"We looked at the whole situation. It's been a troubled season. Many replacements. I'm glad we waited and looked at the situation first. Then maybe it was just as well to stand again as a Bosman player in the end.

“It was surprisingly emotional. Maybe not right away, but afterwards in the locker room. I made a little speech.

“There's something about being there for so long, sharing that dressing room with so many players, staff and people who have worked there for so long. I became sensitive, that is. I didn't think so. Life goes on, I've changed clubs before, but it was special.

"I got an award as the player who has contributed the most off the pitch in the community at Southampton, visiting schools, going to volunteers and stuff like that. I appreciated that. It almost means more than what happens on the field. I was grateful for that.”

I'd wish him all the best but I don't think he's the right kind of player to take us up a level so I'd pass.

Nah. His time's been and gone here. Jota is a much better player and younger.

Think he's much better than Haksa, mind.

I like him, he got 24 goals and 14 assists in 67 games but he would want a massive wage. He was on 60k a week apparently and I can see lower pl team or newly promoted team giving him 40k or more

Very intelligent player, has a goal in him and for his height excellent in air.

Unless he was taking a big wage drop and we were losing a few players I probably would pass.

He does lack a wee bit of pace.

I'd take him if one of the left sided players were to move on. An intelligent player with good technique.

No thanks, too slow and will be on big wages. Plenty young talent out there we can go and get.

No thanks. I liked him but he's painfully slow and not the best dribbler. For me his best attribute is his movement and finishing.

Wages would make it a nonstarter, same with people saying we should bring dembele back.

Depends on style new manager wants to play and deal he'd be happy to agree to.

If it is high intensity, fast paced, he may not really get much of a look in unless it is after games are done and we just need to control the game to see it out.

But if the manager is going to be a guy like Rodgers who may play a possession based style that is more reserved than Ange's then off the bench he could be a fantastic impact sub.

Then depending on what we have down the right with Abada if he stays and any potential new signings... we could have Jota/Elyounoussi/Maeda as left side options.

With someone (yes I know what I'm saying) like Maeda becoming a more versatile utility player who could also be 3rd option striker behind Kyogo and Oh.

Big no from me. He's got all the same deficiencies as Haksabanovic but without the same level of skill and one-vs-one ability. Safer and more reliable in possession mind you.

    Still, we need more dynamism.
