There's a few divisions that look a bit barren at the moment. Looking at the heavyweight rankings and seeing people like Volkov & Blaydes in the top 5 says it all.

Israel seems to be leagues ahead of #2 / #3 in that division in Whittaker & Vettori and has beat them both twice now, so that divison is just a battle for second place.

Usman seems to be quite a bit ahead of Colby, who is a clear #2 in that division, who he's also beaten twice, so again he's just doing laps of that division and beating the same people over and over.

Light heavyweight has just seen the belt go from a 38 year old to a 42 year old, both of whom were gatekeepers when the rosters were a bit better than they are now.

It just seems like a lack of talent throughout the divisions to make them competitive and the matches exciting. Feathweight seems to be the only division right now that's full of talent and close matchups, where you could see 3-4 people having a good chance at taking the belt.

Light heavyweight has Jiri & Rakic, which should shake things up a bit. That said, it was only a few years ago that LHW had Jones, Cormier, Rumble Johnson, and Gustaf battling it out for top spot, though.

Welterweight seems to be practically dependent on Khamzat being the real deal and posing a real threat to Usman. Other than that, Usman doesn't have a real challenger in sight.

Sterling is a bit of a * champ ATM but Yan should take that belt soon enough.

In middleweight, I don't know of anybody up-and-coming or otherwise that poses a serious threat to Israel, same with Ngannou in heavyweight.

It's a good thing boxing is picking up again.
