Misun Gone?!

I said it before the Hearts game, if he didn't play he was gone. * shame in my opinion, I'm sad to see him go. This surely must mean we have a defender coming in.

 

Suprised at this.

 

I hate to say this but Strachan, Mowbray and Lennon all overlooked him. Something was most definately wrong, it may not even be football ability reasons. Hope he goes on to a good career though!

 

This is the level that was meant for him he clearly wasnt good enough im afraid,just too much hype surrounding him before we signed him.... I hope he proves me wrong but i cant see it...

that's just typical of what's been happening with every promising talent that's out there that Celtic manage to get on there books.......they get no chance to move up to the 1st team as the demands by us the fans to win every week are too high for a manager to risk bringing them through unless we get so far ahead in the league that we can afford to mix the squad about a bit and then hope they can perform well and maybe , just maybe get a chance the following season.
but inevitably they are doomed to the scrap heap and sold on for next to nothing just to get a chance to play football.
lenny had better give the Twardzk kids a decent chance....these guys are quality and deserve a chance with the big boys ....either that or loan them out to another premier league team like Hibs or Motherwell who have a decent track record of bringing young players through and it gives them game time and valuable experince of the scottish league....so when we are ready we can bring them back straight into the 1st team.

 

Poor show. IMO he should have been more patient. He's Only 20 for * sake. If he wanted a move we should have loaned hi instead of letting him go.think this is a bad move for both parties here

So if swindon gets relagated to league 2, Misun is going from celtic to some english league 2 side?

Misun had massive potential before injury, I hoped we had agreed a buy-back clause for Misun, like Barcelona did with Crosas - just in case Misun does become a fantastic centre back.

There's no mention of a clause though, so obviously the club hasn't been that impressed with him. I trust the clubs judgement.

Think he looked a great player when I saw him a few times at LB for the youth team.

I really don't care about his performances in pre season, if we go by them the Samaras and Donati are 2 of the best players to ever wear the hoops.

As much as I think he could have been a good player and that we really shouldn't have let him go until we get another CB (imagine Rogne gets injured today and Mulgrew gets a red card next league game, we're going to have to play with youth players & Wilson at CB) the fact that players like Towell, Twardzik and Forrest have been given a chance make me think that theres something in his game thats missing, either that or he has a poor attitude.

Having said that, from the reserves/youth team a few seasons ago I thought that both he and Santonocito would have been great players for us, Santonocito has now played for AC Milan in the cup, so hoping that we don't turn out to regret these loses

Funny one for me.

It's not as if he's been setting the heather on fire on loan, he is kinda perma injured & Lenny has given young guys like Rogne & Forrest a real proper run in the 1st team.

So he's obviously just not good enough & if that's the case, then I'm glad he's gone.

No point in holding onto deadwood, especially if they think they should be in the 1st team - can cause disenchantedment, Crosas for example doesn't go knocking the manager's door down & he's played 1st team games for Barca & Lyon + CL.

 

Might have been a slight exageration but you get my point.

People were going on about how amazing Misun was at CB based on a couple of preseason games (i.e. Seattle) where he looked really good. These were friendly games though which really mean nothing, players get alot of time on the ball and players like Donati, Samaras and Misun can shine becasue they need time on the ball. In a competitive game, when Misun played with Dundee against Raith Rovers he tried to stroll about with the ball at his feet too much and was caught in possesion a couple of times, he looked like a left back playing as a CB.

Having said that he always looked good a LB when I saw him though and am dissapoionted that he never got a chance in his natural position this season, becasue I think he could have done well.
