There are people on here genuinly convinced the decision to hold the silence has something to do with showing us up. It's embarrassing, frankly, and undermines everyone else.

There is something plainly abnormal about twisting the rememberance of the recently deceased into a point-scoring game. It's positively Hunnish. What mindfuck of a universe d'you have to be living in before that seems normal, nevermind justifiable.

How some people's minds work, I just don't understand.

Im going and I will respect it.
Just a thought , will the dambusters still be belted out over the tannoy. Im sure the bereaved family would take comfort from that.

As much as we hate the * there will be no need or reason to boo an ex Huns minute silence especially an unknown.if it was someone who was hated like mo Johnston then that would be a different story.also I remember celticfans had a slim jim banner for Baxter so I think it will be ok.

I'd be quite surprised if it went fine. Tbh I couldn't care less either way. If people shout between it, fair enough i'll no lose any sleep over it, and the wanks in the press can print what ever * they like.

I don't care about the minutes silence, and I don't care how people outside of Celtic look at us. And tbh having a minutes silence on Sunday is absolutely ridiculous.

    Ok I agree.:50:

Just looked like you were having a go at someone who said they wouldn't respect it.

I do care what people think, I do care about what journalists write.

Reputation is very important. I pray to * that the silence will be observed.

I find it quite hard to take in some of the comments from my fellow Tims on this thread,do they really want to stoop to the same level as those from " castle grey-skull ". We all know what they're like as does most of Europe who've had the misfortune to have been visited by them,Catholic haters. But when the eyes and ears of millions around the world tune in on Sunday do we really want to be seen and viewed just as bad as them .If it offends some Celtic supporters so much why not follow the example of those who chose to walk out at Ph when the Minutes silence was held for remembrance Sunday, then enter for the match. But sure as night follows day some fckn arseholes will show us up simply because that's just the way they are.

Like most people on here i agree that we got do make sure we carry this out, but unfortunatly we will get the idots shouting out during it.
If this begins t happen should we not all start clapping and turn it into a mins applause drowning out these idots or would that cause more agro??? Just a suggestion..

all in all i'd love us all to stand in silence for 60 seconds and prove to everyone how different we are compared to scotlands shame..

I found this post on another forum, it may be of some interest:

Just exactly what game are Rangers playing at? First of all we are having a minutes silence for their ex goalkeeper Gerry Neef, I suppose that’s their prerogative, they could have just worn black armbands or had a minutes applause which has proved very successful in the past, but they have decided on a minutes silence prior to kick off, will they do the silence before the dam busters tune or after it, quite ironic when you think the man they are supposed to be paying respect to was a German, I guess if any of his family are there they will be happy with “Land of Hope and Glory” as his send off tune.
If that is bad enough then what is happening at half time takes Scotland’s Shame to a whole new level. They have decided to present a Rangers poppy jersey to Simon Weston (Falklands Veteran), this is a decision taken at the very highest level at Rangers obviously hoping to get a reaction from the Celtic fans. Now some questions need to be asked here. Why if they wanted to honour Simon Weston for a war he took part in nearly thirty years ago didn’t they present him with a poppy jersey on November 7th 2009 when they were at home to St Mirren, the day before Remembrance Sunday? Or on the night they had half the British army present when they played Unirea of Romania, I guess because that would not have received the reaction desired. You also have to ask yourself what would have happened if Claudio Cannigia and Gabriel Amato were still playing for them, would they want to rub the noses of two Argentinean Internationals into the mud, I doubt it.
Another question for the establishment, bearing in mind there is a new dispute regarding oil exploration around the Falkland Islands, is this a good time to mix football with politics? we can ask all the question we want, but we all know that this is a pre-meditated attempt to embarrass the Celtic fans, an attempt that we should make sure is an abject failure.
There is a tension that surrounds these matches, it stems from not wanting to lose to your rivals, emotions are usually running a bit high, and nerves are on a knife edge, you just hope your team comes away with a victory and you can celebrate with your mates, the last thing you need is to be deliberately wound up by the opposition.
When that mob come to Celtic park we bend over backwards to accommodate them, the sound is turned off in the area they occupy, there are no replays shown on the big screens of Celtic goals, everything possible is done to avoid any adverse reaction. What do we get at Snake Mountain?? The triumphalism of an Orange Walk, the music from last night at the proms, everything that can be done to wind you up, is done with no exception.
The most worrying thing about this is, that this was not concocted by somebody in the PR office, this has come from the very highest level, the owner the chairman and indeed the whole board of directors are involved in this attempt at extreme provocation, I have been following Celtic for over fifty years and this is the lowest they have stooped since Moonbeams banned us from the match.
I would be interested to hear what the match commander for Sunday had to say about this, they continue to tell us this is a fixture with a fire burning under it, well they have just thrown more petrol on top.
I would ask the Celtic fans present on Sunday to send a very clear message to Murray and Bain and their entire mob. We are better than you, we have always been better than you, and always will be, nothing you can do to us is any worse than has already been done to us and our forbearers, but we are still here and always will be, we will not go away. Celtic Football Club are the greatest team in the world with the best Supporters in the world, no matter what you do to undermine us, “WE SHALL OVERCOME”

Was on Ewen Camerons face book page and someone put this on

Andrew Heaney Just recieved a text, clearly not meant for me, that Celtic fans are planning to disrupt Sunday's minute silence by phoning 'friends' in the Rangers support during it. Switch off your phones or put it on silent before going in.

This is how low these scumbags will stoop.

As I said earlier, I know the family have requested that it is a minutes silence, but I still think the huns will be rubbing their hands together at this one, so we shouldn't let them by respecting a footballer who has died, it's the decent thing to do.
