Probably a higher level than Bain that we keep because he's an extra pick for the CL squad. I think if he's not a big wage then he's worth keeping as a home grown player. We've depended on worse before when we have a run of injuries

Without injuries, I think he's our starting winger for the foreseeable.

He does seem to have shaken off the injuries but i doubt he'll be making it here.

He was excellent today though, fair play to the wee man.

If he could maintain that level of performance then he'd have a future here.. unfortunately we all know he can't and won't.

Been saying for months he just needs a goal and then * will go his way, a slice of luck for his first then immediately gets a second when his tails up.

Sadly was injured through most of the development ages when he’d be learning through how not to be so effected by confidence and fall back onto the play you’ve learned will shine through your experience of it.

More an impact sub than a starter at the moment. Done brilliant though. Haksa was a bit like that last year.

Them goals will do him the world of good.
And fair play to him, not afraid to get shots off from distance, unlike all his team mates.
He was rank against Hearts but should never have been played on the right in the first place, * poor from BR that.
For the next few games, should be sprung for Palma.

    I don't that's necessarily true mate.

I've always been an ardent "defender" of MJ.

I've never been blind to his limitations, but always thought there was a role for him here.
There's alot of conjecture that surrounds him.
Is he actually good enough? He can't go x games without an injury. Etc etc.

My original point in the thread still stands .

He needs coaching. Actual coaching and tutelage.

I don't want Rodgers, but he's the man to do it. Ange wouldn't have tolerated him. Brendan might. And if Brendan can transform Forrest, and give a rebirth to Broony, then he can turn MJ into a viable option to have.

I've also said MJ gets a tough time from the fans too. As well as saying things Forrest did for YEARS were looked over, whereas MJ is being unfairly judged for the same things.

I'm not gonna dare to claim he will ever do great things here.

But I do BELIEVE that he can have a role in a Celtic shirt. And that Rodgers, despite my dislike of his appointment, could be the guy to get it out of him. Much like Ange to Taylor, or Rodgers to Forrest.

    Let's give him more time.

I think at the very least we can all agree he's bought himself more time after yesterday's performance.

Wee man was excellent yesterday, it's the kind of performance he was needing since he came back in. I'd given up on him aswell after the Hearts debacle, but fair play he's reacted the right way. Interesting few months ahead for him now, if he can use yesterday to push on he may yet become a success.

Of he starts next Saturday.. (which he won't)
You'l all be reaching for the lynching rope by the end of play.

Great he scored a couple yesterday btw and showed some positive attacking play.

Problem with MJ is confidence....and if he hasn't got that now....he'l never get it while at Celtic.

He's still on my OTD list.

Even though he played well and got two goals still doesn’t change my stance of wanting him gone.

    He doesn’t do it consistently.

He did do well but in all honesty he’s had so many chances and even this season he’s had chances and been *.

I just don’t see him doing that week in and week out or he would have already.

That's it with him isn't it, when he starts and things don't go his way, a wee bit of unrest from the crowd, you can see him visibly shrinking and confidence draining away..

All wingers have good and bad days and good and bad moments in games, MJ doesn't seem robust enough to deal with the lows when they come..

I'm not sure that's something that can be coached now for him tbh..

For me his ability has never been in doubt. Let's hope his double v Dundee can be a wee turning point he can build some confidence and consistency from.

He's 24 years old and has been playing for us for years. He's had more than enough chances to prove his worth and keeps failing.

Two goals against Dundee doesn't change my opinion. He's fine for a squad player, but he is not the level we need on the park.
