I bet he took huge pride in being given that armband, he strikes me of that sort. Really seems to love the club and I love him, we all do I'm sure.

Been wanting him to be deputy captain for ages, deserves it a * of a lot more than Mulgrew.

 

Been crying out for him at CB good to see him get the captains armband..

 

This is why he should be captain when Brown is out.

Whats the point? :smiley-laughing002: nocunt ever scores from crosses for us anyway, we could put in 20 world class crosses in a game and would be lucky for a player to even get on 3 of them.

Izaguirre and Boerrigter put in about 7/8 quality crosses between them the other night and I dont think our players got on any of them.

Our full-backs would be much better shooting from the wings than crossing it in.

When we had Hooper, Samaras, Ledley and Wanyama the other season it was worthwhile but with players like Stokes, Griffiths, Pukki, Forrest, Commons, McGregor and Tonev we're * into the wind.

 

Totally agree. More likely the opposing CB scoring an own goal that our attackers. Best realistic hope we have is a corner so we can put Virgil in the box.

I remember Lustig in the Celtic shop watching the telly with a pram in front of him and everyone just walked by not noticing him. Just seems a really down to earth guy. Reliable footballer too.

Will never forget his celebrations after the final whistle sounded against Shakhter Karagandy at Paradise last year.

The guy was over the moon and has clearly fallen in love with the club over the past two years.

Think he could become quite an accomplished CB as the season goes on. Looks pretty comfortable there. Efe & Co might struggle to get back in.

 

I agree.. however, he is our best right back and Matthews just doesn't have the end product that he does. Also pretty sure he is only happy to step in at CB as cover and will want his right back slot back asap.
