I dunno what the Swedish defensive options are but if I was their manager i'd have him nowhere near the world cup squad.

    I know mate it's mental.

Out of the entire Celtic squad, the ones who are currently heading to the World Cup barring injuries are Lustig (Sweden), Boyata (Belgium), Rogic (Australia) and Gamboa (Costa Rica).

Can't see Musonda getting a Belgium call-up unless there's there is injuries, no chance of Sinclair and Roberts getting anywhere near an England shirt. Scotland didn't qualify so half our squad isn't going, any hype around Dembele getting a France call-up has died down due to his poor form and the chances of Ntcham and Edouard getting in are very slim indeed,

I’ve wanted him improved on since Barry McKay had him on toast a few years ago, * absolutely rubished that, was even called a space cadet for saying he was in a natural decline.

Mind actually boggled, was it the rabona? The beach ball on his nut? A player you just couldn’t criticise a year ago.

Slow, became a scare on the ball, 0 option on the overlap, magnetically attracted to the ball, weak - He’s just not very good anymore.

Will stand by what I’ve said all along, that he’s still probably our best option at right back but, for the rest of the campaign, I’d have Ralston in. Ralston to the end of the season, new RB in the summer.

No problem with him starting tonight as he didn't put a foot wrong in the first leg (probably because the ball didn't get to him all that often) but cmon the guy doesn't give us anything at all, last time I seen him on a over lap was against Hibs at Hampden and his defending is probably the worst out of our back 4. Still don't see why people think Ralston is the answer, showed nothing apart from a 6/10 performance against Kilmarnock 6 months ago. Gamboa seems to get the cold shoulder for some reason so he will be offski, maybe we will see more of the 3-5-2 during the next couple of games.

    Yeah he's finished now.

Defended him in the past but nah. Gotta be replaced.

Agree with most of that, but what's the point in persisting with Gamboa? He doesn't look like the answer either, nothing special about him but his pace.

At least sticking Ralston in would aid in developing one of our own, and who knows, he may reach a McGregor like level.

I laughed when the commentator said his injury that lasted 4 seconds against partick could ruin his world cup hopes. He's doing a fine job of not getting selected on his own

I defended him up until he was injured tbh. Love the guy but he’s finished.

He's always solid for Sweden everytime I see him. His performances in both legs v Italy were a standard he's not came close to replicating with us this season. Scored 4 goals for them the last 2 years too.

You're right, just find strange as he seems to be the only player part of our squad that hasn't really been given the opportunity he should've been given . He was great last season when Lustig got injured but as soon as he Lustig recovered he was back in the team, although Gamboa was in good form. Even the Sviatchenko situation wasn't strange because he wasn't performing on a weekly basis and had shockers against part time footballers. Gamboa was also one of rodgers signings so you would think he wouldn't have any problem playing him, now it just seems like from the outside looking in he surely has to have a attitude problem or train like *.

I know there may have been a bit of conflict when he decided he wanted to play in the gold cup for his country instead of sitting on the bench for us. Don't mind Ralston but doesn't seem to have the same talent that Tierney had when he was first transitioned into the squad, nothing wrong with that but will probably need to go out on loan first before like Ajer did and come back 2x the player.

I like the guy but he's been a liability now for quite some time, seems to be a BR favorite though, 2nd name on the team-sheet after Broonie.

Great servant, great player and great guy over the years.

He’s not untouchable though. People have been scared to criticise him in the past. Now it’s happened on the big stage in an important game.

It's been evident since last season he does not fit Rodgers system or style, no pace, can't get forward, just lumps it aimlessly or pass backwards. No idea what Gamboa does wrong, he done more against St.Jonstone than Lustig has done for months.

His 'experience' counts for * all if he makes constant mistakes and costs us goals.

He was the only bad player in the first leg. Whenever the ball came to him he made it obvious he was incredibly one footed and was misplacing passes constantly.
