true, I'm pretty sure you were another user that said I was talking * pretty funny how it changes within 3-4 months. I was fine when people have different opinions to me that's great and what a forum is for, not some daftys on here trying to take the * and base their opinions on fifa lol.

I raised my doubts about him as it seemed no one on this forum was allowed to talk badly about his performances , and most responses were 'you a hun?' '* me your clueless' 'Lustig is class, his experience is vital for us'. Then people soon started to look past the 'passion' part and soon realised his limitations. Anyway hopefully we see a lot more of Ralston or Gamboa in the future and Lustig can hopefully find another team in Scotland that's at his level (Hibs).

This part mate, is 100% true. He is one of the most vital players in the squad. Experienced, a leader, passionate. Aye his performances haven’t been great recently but there’s no denying he’s one of our most important squad members.

Unless someone is punted this window can't see us bringing in another RB as we have 3. We can't afford to have 4 RBs in our squad..

Want to see more of Ralston or a back three..

Most right minded Celtic fans rightly gave Lustig the benefit of the doubt. He has been an excellent player for us, a leader and an important player.

He does look as if he's done tho, but I take no pleasure in saying that. Why would a Celtic supporter try to take credit for calling the demise of one of our best players in recent times. That's Hun like behaviour..

He should be dropped but he may come back and it would be foolish to write him off totally.

So please replace him as a starter Brendan. No one wants to see what happened to Gordon happen to the big man.

We knew this was coming, the red flags have been there to see all season.

What an amazing servant he’s been to the club, one of those players that will always be remembered and you know we’ve had a huge impact on him and his family.

But we need to start looking for his replacement, more likely in the summer. I don’t know if Ralston is that man or not.

Experience can only take you so far, you need the body to do what your brain wants you to do.

You wouldn’t have Cafu back there now because he’s experienced.

    I realise that’s a bit extreme...

I’m not saying he needs to play every game, but there’s no denying he’s a vital member of our squad. He leads by example on and off the field.

Absolutely, I wouldn’t sell him for that reason. If Ralston is his replacement he should work closely with him.

3 RBs and 2 of them can't seem to get a sniff despite Lustig being in sharp decline. It's not only recently he's been rotten though, I remember that wee * McKay absolutely roasted him in the hogmanay game last season. We need an upgrade ASAP.

How he still gets a call-up for Sweden is beyond me, the RB competition for them must be horrific.

Off the field perhaps, on the field no chance. He's a likeable guy but in the era of ever-stretched finances we need to be getting value for money for every £ spent and Lustig on circa £15 p/wk to be a back-up RB and touchline cheerleader is not it.

His performances haven’t been at it this season, for the most part, but on the field he’s a leader, shows more passion than most and isn’t afraid to put himself about if need be.

He’s more than just a likeable guy ffs, he’s one of our most important guys in the squad. It’s fickle as * to write his influence off. He’s more often than not one of Sweden’s best players as well.

Passion and 'putting yourself about' are great but they need to go hand-in-hand with capability and for a long time I've not seen that with Lustig.

I don't think it's fickle at all. In football you have to be ruthless and if we're serious about making progress as a team then weak areas have to be targeted and Lustig falls into that category. Previously it was just Europe that Lustig's frailties were shown but it's ever more increasingly showing in domestic football too; his performance v the huns on the 30th was embarrassingly bad.

We need to ditch this sentimentality with Lustig that because he's a good guy, is passionate and puts himself about that we should not be objective on his performances. For where we aspire to be, he isn't good enough.

Brendan is clearly trying to shift Gamboa on this window as has been reported.

Ralston for some reason still isnt fit by looks of it.

Lustig for me will go down as a very good celtic player and a great guy, seems very easy going but even though he has lost his place, 1 thing for me sticks out HE HAS NO COMPETITION, he can see Gamboa wont get a game, Ralston is injured so it must effect your performances if you know you have no direct competition.

But i agree with everyone he does need replaced.

I’m not saying we shouldn’t be objective about his performances, they’ve not been good enough, that’s clear. What I’m trying to say, is that we shouldn’t just therefore make him surplus to requirements, as some are suggesting, when he’s one of the most influential guys in the squad.

Being ruthless is needed at times and that would be my stance on Dembeles current situation etc. But it’s not my view on a guy who’s served the club well for 6 years, loves us and shows more passion than half the Scottish boys.
