Not true. It’s more like when to get roasted by any winger that runs at you that people start questioning your legs.

As a previous poster said, why are people so defensive over this? It’s as clear as the nose on your face. He’s slower than a week in the jail and turns like a bus.

It’s not a matter of desire, it’s not like he’s not trying, just that he’s no longer as capable as he was. Whenever we’re slightly up against it Lustig gets ripped up at least two or three times and exposes the entire back line. It’s an area we must strengthen, no doubt about it.

 

Agree with you mate. I don't think there is any malice in the criticism he gets, just us fans saying it how we see it and being honest. Some people are taking it too personally and getting defensive. I know he's been a great servant but he has regressed and it's as clear as day

 

There are always better and faster players that very occasionally you come up against ,doesnt mean its over for you ,you adapt the team to give more support to that area .

 

In other word's, he's talking complete and utter mince..

 

I know what a bundle of *, the quickest player in any team is usually the winger. Ffs, Hibs wingers tore KT and ML for pace every time are they finished? Neymar and Mbappe tore them too, although youd say * done a better job against Neymar than KT against Mbappe.

We need two new fullbacks, maybe we should sign up Bolt and Gaitland? There's an idea.

 

He's been a brilliant servant to our club however, today once again showed me we need a new RB. Not got the pace and thinks the only person in the team he is allowed to pass the ball to is Brown sometimes!

 

Had his worst game for us today ,passing way off ,along with wee calum they were the worst 2 ,both big favourites of mine in the team as well .

He should have had an assist. He wasnt very good but I've seen him worse.

 

Lustig’s suffered, like Sinclair, from a complete lack of decent cover on his side. He’s not had anyone pushing him since Matthews left. That and general wear and tear mean we need a New right back, and I’d hope we’re shopping in the 3-6 million pound market as we seem to only spend money on midfielders and neglect the defence.

You need a tin hat and a large barricade when you say anything critical of Lustig on here I've said it before he only seems to kick with one foot and has to turn himself full circle sometimes to do it. He's slowed down and sometimes. when he's running, it's like his legs and top half are not in sync.......and yet he does provide the odd moment of magic. No one can deny his love for the club and it's fans and it's reciprocated but he shouldn't be an automatic first pick anymore. Until Brendan brings a few in we have what we have and he at least gives his all.

 

I agree with this. Rio Ferdinand said he adjusted his game once he lost a bit of pace. Lustig naturally sits deeper but can still push forward when he's needed.

 

Completely agree. Love the big man, but he is painfully slow and one-footed at times. A lot of our attacks down the right hand side are slowed or stopped when he's involved. Good defender but he offers us very little going forward now, which is crucial in our system.
