He did noticeably fade but he was terrific first half. So cool and composed breaking and playing out from the back..

He pussied out and concieded the first goal, i was right in front of him and seen it. He could have kicked the ball away but let the sheeva guy come at him and score.

He's starting to fade in general. Legs aren't there for this marauding RB malarkey. 90% of his deliveries are from well outside the box now, rarely gets far forward on the overlap, favours the long punt 100% of the time over taking a man on. Both goals coming from down his side as well. Adequate domestically but has to be centre back or nothing in Europe for me.

He is good in the air and plays the ball out of defence well. I worry about people running at him now though, for me he should be used as a centre-half, could get years out him there as he is fairly fast for a centre-back although slower for a right-back, more his pace off the mark I worry about when someone goes past him and he has to turn hes too slow to turn that he gets done too easy.

Janko is the opposite, im comfortable with him defending, he is solid and nobody can really get past him but he isn't as good going forward as Lustig.

He doesn't have the pace or engine to be a modern full back but has all the attributes to be a fine centre back. Right back could be a wee weakness for us as Lustig tires about an hour in and Janko was like a rabbit in headlights when he came on. I like Janko defensively but he was petrified to take anyone on going forward last night.

Thought janko was pish going forward and defending in that game but I think hes a better player than he showed. Lustig imo is a smashing rb if he could stay fit hed be sensational i think we were silly letting fisher go, or is he only away on loan?

i thought he had a good game too, but on watching the game back he was really poor at there first goal, and the second goal came down his side, not sure he could have done much about the second but, wonder if he was took off for any of those reasons.

Most likely and McGregor joining him was significant too. BR really reads the game and those two were showing weakness. I like Lustig but he can't last the pace. When you watch him it's like his top half and bottom half work at different levels. I hope they can transform him like Brooney and Forrest.

Well as the saying goes "in Brendan we trust" :50: Janko will come good in time. CL football is a huge huge deal for young players. Dembele looked terrified, came on and done the business :smiley-laughing002:

He was weak at both goals. Obviously noticed by BR.

First half he was great. Don't know if it was tiredness or they ran at him more second half but he got exposed badly before he was subbed.

Before last night I thought we only needed a dm. We definitely need a rb as well.

He was very good up until his last 5 minutes on the pitch. Took a sharp nosedive.

At 1/2 time they worked out our weakness - great going forward but defensively weak on the right and through the middle (vs Calum). We created the perfect scenario when they countered quickly on our right with Kolo taking too long to come back from the corner - someone should have broken up play, taken a yellow and think Broonie would have but he was already on one.

Haven't read this thread so sorry if this is repetition but... Both goals came down his side and it was due to pacey players running at him. Janko replaced him because he has pace - pace can cover many ills I.e. Agathe

Janko got done and gave away a foul within 10 minutes or something of coming on. Janice's one for the future, but he has a lot to learn and here and now, Lustig is much more solid.

So you think the first goal was down to a pacy player running at Lustig? He wasn't at fault for the second goal either.

First half he was fantastic, 2nd half don't know whether he got a knock or something. Wasn't convinced by his display against Astana but last night in the 1st half looked like we had Lustig back in form.

Think he needs a weeks rest between games.
