Played well tonight for sure....he's a class player no doubt about it....but for how much longer......always rated him though but feel he's too injury prone.

It's not a new position to him. He has played there in the past and done well.

Am I the only one that thought he was awful last night? Especially 1st half looked so uncomfortable, then relying on Janko constantly to get back and win the ball. Played a few cracking balls over the top then suddenly kept passing sideways and back instead of bringing the ball forward.
Wasn't the worst on the park but certainly didn't play well in my opinion.

    Most likely.

He is a RB who was required to shore up the central defensive area last night due to high doubt over Ambrose.

He performed well enough, but he won't be becoming our new CB any time soon, especially with Sviatchenko coming back and Toure performing extremely well in his first outing at Celtic.

Oh, and don't forget O'Connell, Boyata and Simunovic.

Yes I get that but he never really showed much of his experience that I thought he would. It just looked like O'Connell and Janko were constantly covering him.
Don't know if I'm being harsh on him but I was not convinced at all that even at right back he will be an asset to us, just have a feeling he's past it.

Lustig loves Celtic, fantastic when a foreign player gets it

Really? I thought he was constanty covering an coaching the young players around him making us pretty solid. He was leading the defence that was comprised of 3 players who were 20 and under.

I may have said Lustig legs were away at the end of last season. Never doubted his passion for the club though and it looks like he may still have a big part to play, brilliant last night.

Maybe I'm being overly critical on him, but he just seemed to get caught out constantly.

Agree - he had a decent game, but as the senior Pro at the back for most of the game last night, i expected more. Especially in the martial-ling of Janko...all to often we could not get moving down the right. Would have hoped for Mikael to offer more on the ball

Seems to work perfect as a right sided defender in a three man defence against teams who play with little attacking threat. (And that's not meant as an insult, its a vital role in our team both domestically and in the qualifers).
Am interested to see if he can play centre back in a two man pairing, not sure he's the long term solution to that. But he's vital to have around the squad for now, gives so many options defensively.

    I thought he was decent.

Said for a while that I see him mainly as a CB now and I still feel that way.

You are from what I saw. Can't even recall 1 telling moment he was caught out?

Caught out constantly? No one was caught out constantly, they provided no attacking threat whatsoever. Through us or over us.

He started to annoy me today. Looks forward, turns round and passes back or on the odd occasion a massive hoof up the park.

He's mr reliable when fit, last night he showed great composure and class. Always wanted him moved to CB and think Brendan will use him on the right of a back 3 a lot this year. Sutton is right that he doesn't have the legs to be an advanced RB anymore, I see him being a decent CB for us though, top footballer.

Thought he had a great first half in attack and defense.

He seems to only be able to last 60/70 minutes these days.

Played well in the first half but definitely tired in the second half.
