Guy is slower then a ferry turning painful watching him whilst Matthews rots in the Championship

 

That's the thing, when we sold Matthews, it was made out we had a replacement and that they'd be getting a game every week. But Lustig? Christ; the guy's been an arch puddin' this season. At least Matthews could bomb forward and run strong and direct, Lustig can barely get his bunce over the halfway line without getting caught. Whatever happened to that Janko? I thought he was held in high regard.

 

He has been * the whole season, would have Matthews back for him everyday of the week.

Lustig and Roberts got ripped to bits down our right side. The same ball in behind for Wallace to run onto caught us out the whole game.

 

To be fair, Roberts is an inside forward. This meant Lustig was all alone when Roberts ran into a wall in the middle, and could be overwhelmed easily. It is true Lustig played badly, but it's the wing setup that made things bad.

 

Can't believe he is only 29.

Exactly. But what was even crazier, was the fact we kept trying to shift the ball down that side. We should have shifted it to the left and had young Tierney just trying to get to the byline - that Tavernier character was in his back pocket most of the game.

 

I really don't think he's done yet. He's in the same boat as a lot of senior players where he's had a very poor season, but there are 'extenuating circumstances' in the form of a Norwegian fantasist that have been a big part of that.

Let the new man come in and get a look at the like of Lustig, Brown, Commons and Mulgrew to see what they have to offer. This season has been a car-crash, but I tend to blame the driver.

 

Roberts half arsed his tracking back most of the game leaving Lustig who has * all totally exposed, took us a while to figure out that Johansen needs to slot over there for cover.

Our right side got destroyed by simple one two's.

 

I noticed this too. I felt at times Roberts didnt track his man or follow the runner, often meaning Lustig got sucked out of position as he was drawn to the ball, or left in a 2v1 situation.

One of the poorest Lustig performances iv seen but he was so badly exposed.

 

We have a major problem at right back. Warburton and every other manager knows they will get us down our right side, and so they raped Lustig.

It's like playing with ten men now. Where's Janko and Fisher ?

With 30 min to go, Lustig wasn't even bothering to track back. He was pointing to Sviatchenko to cover the gap. He's been a great player for us - but he's done. Injuries have taken their toll - if Sweden take him to the Euro's and play him then next season will be even more of a struggle for him.

Although, Sweden use Seb Larsson to cover him and do his running for him. We don't have the system to protect him.
