Always hobbling and grabbing at his groin, looks to be being played through injury.

Quality player just a shame he's made of glass.

Has absolutely everything you'd want in a right back when he's at his best.

He put in a tackle and jumped up clutching the back of his thigh and stretching his leg..

It summed up everything that's happened to an absolutely quality right back. He's playing with fear and with good reason..

Wasted at right back, this guy is a quality centre half potentially, how nobody on the coaching staff recognizes this is unreal. Janko at right back. Not gonna solve all our defensive issues overnight but it's a starting point from which to build some solidity from alongside Jozo.

I like the guy but he's not at the races at all. Looks unfit, slow and is clearly carrying something once again. Very predictable right now as well, not offering much.

He doesn't do anything positive anymore, gets the ball and plays it back to boyata or plays a square ball inside, different player now and needs to be playing behind janko

How old is he now? looks like he's lost all his pace and lets guys by him all the time and now quick enough to close down.

Used to be my favourite player, now I'm kinda of hoping we get a good replacement....

Maybe things are just wrong with this club's defensive coaching and it's effecting him too...

Mikel is another of our players who haven't lived up to the promise shown in his early games. He likes to get up the park but doesn't have the legs to get back when things break down. Keep him in a defensive position and let the midfield/wingers use the wide areas, too often he gets up to just outside the opposition box, throws in a speculative cross which is usually cleared and there is a big space down the right of the pitch for teams to exploit.

I don't think he gets much help to be honest, looks like he's covering 3 positions sometimes. He hasn't got the legs for that.

He was furious with Boyata last night at the first goal, see him sprinting over to try and close down, Boyata's standing like a fud 3 yards infront of him not closing the shot down.

He's trying to take responsibility and it's * up his own position for him.

He didn't play well last night but other than Tierney, he was arguably the best of the rest.

Moving him to centre half would be a wise decision at this point. When Janko is fit I'd like to see:

    Janko Lustig Jozo Tierney

    Lustig isn't a centre back.

Nor is trying to shift a right back into that position the long-term answer.

It isn't the long term answer, but right now I'd feel far more confident with him in there than Boyata, Efe or Blackett.

Agree completely. Lustig is a good player but he cant do his job if he's having to second guess the two * at centre half.

And then if Lustig gets a roasting at centre back? His confidence will go downhill faster than it must be just now, then the fans are on his back.

I think it would be unfair on him, but I understand your sentiment.

The player is clearly suffering like so many others because of the manager's system.

I see where you're coming from but he's played there before and done well.

Just clutching at straws really. Anything to get those three fannies away from the defence.

We really need an experienced head in the centre of defence, but no doubt we won't sign one in January.
