keep it tight in the first half get big jan to hold it up and bring our flair players into then game, then if things are close in the second half we've got skippy and samaras to bring on and attack a bit more

i think 4-5-1 is what we should do a bit to dominate midfield and then 4-4-2 agaisnt teams with the same system.
The same system should not happen each game as most will teams just sit back
countor attacking fast is probaly are best bet

There is no need for a major revamp, the team just under performed - it happens.

I think when we play 4-4-2 against a 5 man midfield,it highlights the chronic lack of pace among all our midfielders. With the possible exception of Brown(and he aint the quickest)we have no one to try and force the pace and tempo of a game.As a result,we are playing in front of the opposition defence, and usually the wide men are tightly marked.I think we also lack someone to provide the killer pass from the central area.At the risk of restarting the Naka debate, you would think he would be the obvious candidate to perform this role.I think WGS thinks he is too lightweight for this job(and i agree)In the summer its maybe time to look for a genuine playmaker, who is also a hard *,and lightning pace preferably.Im not asking too much surely!!!!!!!!

The thought of that midfield makes me shudder how did GS ever think that would work at ipox?

For what it's worth I think we see the best of Brown when Donatis out think Brown is very frustrated at having to keep 1 eye on Donatis wandering/failure to track back. Browns form has suffered due to this as has Celtic's.

We must score more from midfield Skippy cant carry us the whole season. Mcgeady Brown Hartley Robson no * (in the SPL)would intimidate that quartet, Naka could be used when conditions suit i.e not against Rangers until the battle for midfield is won and not away on crap surfaces or until opponents tired legs could be exposed.

you say strachan tries to line two centre mids against three, which he does. it doesnt matter how many opponents there are, its more how are two cm's play to one another. its all about findin pockets of space, poppin the ball off and moving, roy keane was the best at this, and man utd could always line 2 up against any 3 because scholes and keane were like a well oiled machine ,one goes one stays ,pop the ball off, cover each others spaces, cover for one another when darting forward, keep tighht when we dont have the ball etc. i think the fact he keeps swapping the centre mids isnt helping matters. and there is no need for the defence to play that deep, there isnt a major pace threat in the spl games normally, i think the deepness of the defenders has restricted broonys game big style with him having to drop deep to retrieve the ball, finding him with ball at feet back to goal alot. i think we need to find the right partner for brown in the middle of the park.
