It’s not literally impossible at all, it’s only impossible if you want an excuse to have a greet and a moan. We have had an excellent European campaign so far apart from a single anomaly there’s every chance we would have lost regardless. We have made significant European progress.

I said in the thread from the Dundee game. He got away with it last night because we were brilliant. He has overseen 4 windows of incompetence, sacked different scouts, head of recruitment etc etc. As CEO he is in charge of the club and he has failed in 4 windows. “We want to be world class in everything we do” were his words and we are anything but. Signed 4 players on deadline day during the summer, then during this window let our best player go out the door without a replacement lined up!!!!! If that’s not incompetence what is??
He needs to go, not improving us one bit.

The issue with Diawara in the summer was that Lyon didn’t want a buy clause included. We focused on more permanent targets, then went back when nothing materialised and by then it was too late.

What I really don’t understand though is why when we were so interested in bringing in a more defensive minded physical midfielder in the summer; we made zero attempt to do so in January. Our recruitment makes zero sense and seems to follow no set plan.

I’ve stated how great it is to have Jota back and Tierney on the verge of returning, plus I’m happy enough with Schlupp as a stop gap. The reality though is that all three of those deals fell into our lap due to circumstances (KT and Jota desperate to come “home” and Rodgers knowing Schlupp), rather than any proactive work by the club.

I guess you could say the same for last January with Kuhn and Idah. It felt to me that Nerlinger pretty much done that deal for us, and Idah could’ve been a Rodgers or even Desmond deal. That’s obviously me blindly speculating in both cases.

Maybe he does have an issue with workload or trying to spin multiple plates. I suppose to some extent he is fairly new to a pretty unique and difficult job.

Then we should get some more staff in, it's mad how many things he's supposed to do and how few he seems to manage doing

I knew a guy that worked in the stadium in the 2010s. I mind he told me the one thing about Lawwell was he would always get back to you if you needed an answer on something.

I can imagine Nicholson probably does reasonably well in terms of tackling the volume of tasks but also falls short at the big ones like in the transfer windows.
