What I like most about him is that he just goes about his business and gets it done.

Lawwell loved to get his name in the media and drip feed stories to the papers, got involved with everything and micromanaging the club. Obviously to a degree it worked very well until it exploded. Where as Mick has came in and just doesn’t * about, refreshing so far.

Imagine where we’d be, if this man was CEO whilst the support was heralding Lawwell as the ‘best operator’ in football.

Nicholson has had a good start to his tenure as CEO, but it’s this window that will be telling and will be interesting to see how he does.
There’s a few squad players to shift first to make room for any new acquisitions.

 

Lawwell jnr and this man getting things done efficiently again..

Identifying top talent for the manager and getting them in early on long term deals..

Difficult to come to terms that I actually have trust in a CEO..

 

He came across really well. Think he has been a great appointment so far and actually believe he will push us further forward yet.

 

I think they are using the city group model of acquiring talent only in our case they do get in the first team

 

This guys been sensational since coming in to the club … Trust him completely taking us forward.


It feels really strange typing that about anyone on the Celtic board

 

The important thing on the recruitment side with him as a CEO is he’s sticking to the business side of it. The football people are deciding on how valuable they are to the team or success to the club, then he delivers it within the budget.

No nonsensical caps on fees or wages. It’s decided on a common sense basis. For good or bad, GG being perfect example of this. He was punted because he wanted more, we could have paid it, and as harsh as it is on him for all intents and purposes a ‘back up’ although very much a first team quality player, we didn’t do it as it didn’t fit the designs.

That’s in the ‘bad’ way as some support would view it, I think it’s more a common sense approach applied now, guaranteed our full team, if there was a ‘wage cap’ in place like years prior, and to keep Callum McGregor at the club it required £5k above that cap, full team would back it. Years gone by he’d be gone, now it’s looked at in a ‘can we afford it, is it worth it, does it make sense for the team’ way.

We started doing it BR’s first year, then Peter Lawwell wrestled it back to his way.
