The Spaniards use a phrase for that, ‘Messidependencia’ and I’m sure no-one needs a translation. The thing is, Barca fans are likely never going to see a player as good as he is in their lifetime again. It’ll be a sad day when he does leave.

Really surprised he wants to leave Barca at this moment in time. I thought he would want to stay to try and right the wrongs of last season. I've always thought his love for Barca was genuine and I find it hard to believe he would want his last game for the club to be the debacle against Bayern. Still love the wee guy though, the greatest ever for me, no doubt whatsoever and it will be depressing to see him playing for one of the state-backed, money-for-nothing teams like PSG or Man City.

not really surprising as he is getting older and the barcelona team has year after year been getting weaker meaning the pressure on him is intensifying

maybe they are forcing him out on the fly and hoping to get one last massive fee

barcelona must have had incredible debt over the last 10 15 years, maybe the reason they squad has drifted into mediocrity is because they are trying to cut costs to pay down the debt ?

    Yeah totally get that feeling.
Regardless if we can all think that the dependency on Messi is perhaps holding them back, the fans would never ever allow the board to be the thing that pushes him away.

It'd be like our board forcing Larsson out, it just would never have been accepted and a revolt would have happened.

Can't see him actually leaving, think this whole transfer request thing is just a way of forcing out the president early.

Why would a guy who is adored at a club he's played with his whole career want to upsticks now after winning everything there is to win, has a family who are settled in Barcelona and is going into his final years of his career..

PSG or Man City the only realistic options - would he win more there than he would at Barca? I'm not so sure, as bad as they've been this season they are still a hugely attractive club for the majority of top level players.

Do Messi and the big guns no pretty much have a say in player's and coaches coming in?

If so, they're equally to blame for how far that club has fallen quality wise..

Player power is too big now..

Don't want him to go to Man City..

Hilarious arguing about the morality of clubs owners when the * * who make our kits are using Uyghurs in so-called re-education camps in China, that are actually sweatshops pumping out kit for Adidas, Nike, Gap etc.

If we are talking moral high ground, we are sat in a * infested trench.

The end of an era. The greatest player I’ve ever seen and expect to ever see. Part of the greatest team I’ve ever seen and expect to see too.

He says he wants a European challenge so come to Celtic.
No fee would leave Celtic to be able to pay £10m to him in wages for the 10IAR season

    Aye... what a surprise..

The worlds 2 foremost ffp flouting, politically backwards, oil state run, detestable clubs are the ones likely to sign him.

Disappointing if he actually WANTS to go to the mancys.

Was always likely to be Man City or PSG.

    If he actually leaves.
