He’s still comfortably the best player in the world, total waste him being out there but it seems to have given him a new lease of life.

    He'll win Balon Dor.

Why? Because of his WC performances and his closest rival Haaland has yet to turn up on a big occasion for City. Shocking stats in any final he has ever played. Whilst messi done the exact opossite in WC final.

The sound of American commentators having a wankfest over him really doubles my annoyance for him :giggle1:

The joy of football personified in one player. The greatest to ever do it. No one else comes close.

See he's finding it tough in the MLS this season. 11 games and just the 23 G/A :giggle1:

Absolutely mental. Even at 35, he’s tearing it up in a relatively decent standard of league.

Still the best football player in the world for me.

Folk aren't actually criticizing him are they?

Miami top of the league, Messi as top assister and goal scorer (let alone combined), what more do they want from him? :56:

784 career top flight club and country (non friendly) goals.
3rd place behind Biscan on 805 and Ronaldo on 869

Nah but I have seen people saying it'd only cause its MLS and couldn't do it in Europe anymore. Which is wild

Saw he has 1205 goal contributions in total. (Including international friendlies I'd imagine). Mental

Mental and wild considering he's just left last season.

MLS is also a half decent league these days.
Better than most European leagues, ours included.

I'll assume the same who would genuinely argue that though, are celebrating Ronaldo scoring 52 goals in the Saudi league

He probably is still the best in the world, the best in Europe the now is probably De Bruyne whos like a * Messi really. Messi at Man City would probably score and create more than him.

Rodri arguably the best in Europe also really although a deeper midfielder.

Mbappe also but he's not really playing that well either justy the standard he normall is, Haaland for me never in it as he's quite clumsy although a goalscorer. Bellingham getting a lot of hype also but doesn't do enough in games, i'd say more similar to Haaland than De Bruyne where he'll score goals but best in the world players need to control a game for me. Vinicius and Kroos are probably Real Madrid's two key players but they're not best in the world level either.

Looked like a bad ankle injury for him, not the best of injuries to get esp later in the career.

The GOAT debate is not really a debate these days and that is coming from me who thought Ronaldo was the best all along. Messi is on a whole other level

    Aye, took a sore one.

I was wondering if they'd give a penalty for it even though it happened off the park, it was much worse than that penalty England got last week, as the defender did catch him hard and twist his ankle over but would be mental to see a penalty given for something that happened about a yard behind the goal.

I wonder what the rules on that are if a foul happens off the park when the ball is already out.
