I don't really have an issue with the comments, we won the game and that's all that matters. We got little bits of luck during the game, but we thoroughly deserved to win the game. Barcelona also got their luck which came in the form of the refereeing decisions.

I had a bit of a moan at Schuster's comments after the first Barca game, but that was just because we lost that game and I felt like having a moan. If we had got the draw in that game I wouldn't have cared.

It's incredibly difficult to play against Barcelona and it's also incredibly difficult to be as focused and concentrated as we were on the night, it would have only took one lapse in concentration and it could have resulted in a penalty or a goal. Our performance was incredible and most recognise it as that.

We rode our luck at times, so did they.

    That happens in football.

Not being funny here guys, but I've yet to see anyone who's saying these comments have been taken out of context prove that to be the case?

We were lucky though? C'mon - you need luck to beat a team that good. That's, possibly, the best team ever. They will create chances - we rode our luck at times. We got lucky that Xavi missed the kick out from Forster. We still played brilliantly and we deserved our win for a great defensive performance as well as good counter-attacking. I don't understand the problem here exactly? You need luck to beat Barca, look at Chelsea. Would be delusional to suggest we weren't lucky at times. That being said, I have literally no faults with our performance, it's merely a sign of the quality we were up against.

Also the Record proclaims that Messi said we beat them as we were taller - if you watch the video then you will see that Messi explains we scored from the corner because we were a taller team - he doesn't say that is why we won...

Aye, that is ridiculous, but you'd expect nothing less from the Record. I genuinely cannot wait until the * * newspapers in this country cease to exist.

    we were lucky

    and

    so were they

but lets be honest about it 8 times out of 10 we'd probably have lost against barcelona

we are out matched in every area apart from 2 goalkeeper and defensive midfielder

why care if the press decide to twist what they are saying or even if they did say we were lucky

i couldn't give a toss what they say cause i know we won and deservedly so

they could/should have lost song to a red card and everytime in ever league you see a forward do what watt done in getting in front of last man like that and going down results in a sending off

so they should have been down to 9 men

anyway our celtic spirit prevailed and thats all that counts hope it doesnt end up as just a 1 off result and that we manage to do the business against benfica and spartak and get through to the last 16, it would be terrible if we didn't and a big let down

I don't think any of them said anything particularly controversial.

Just the rags trying to create a stir.

I've no interest in what the papers make out. Messi is probably the best player in the world at the minute and he struggled over two games against a Celtic team that was given no chance, of course he is hurting a bit but let's not allow the papers to create a problem where non exists. My memory of Messi this week is the picture in the trophy room with Xavi & Iniesta holding the Celtic tops, I'm just glad that it isn't because he scored a hat-trick.

It would be unfair to say that Messi 'struggled' against us over the two legs. He was quieter in the Nou Camp than he was at Celtic Park though, I'll give you that. He still got a goal at Parkhead in the end.

If it weren't for Forster being the top class keeper that he is, we could easily have been trounced in both games. However, when we got our chances, we took them. We were clinical. Barcelona did not, due to a combination of poor finishing and Forster.

Factors which greatly overshadow any "luck" that went our way.

Modern day would have to be Henrik...
Not sure if it is related, but actor Kenny Baker, who played R2-D2 in the Star Wars movie was seen exiting the Barca dressing room looking decidedly unhappy...
