    chances are if we sell him for 7 mil or watever we are not gonna spend 7 mil directly on a replacement so realistically your lookin at replacin him with a 3/4 million pound player and i dont think for that money u would get anyone near his quality

    A fine way to speak about one of our players :rolleyes:

    I really hope he fires back with a good season, and rams the pathetic insults and heckling he receives from the morons in our support back down their collective fat necks.

    Maloney is much more of a footballer than Aidan. If he was fit regularly Maloney coming back in would actually improve the team. The goals/assists per game rates do not lie. Maloney is a far more effective player. I like McGinns directness and I think he could be coached into being a great player. McCourt will never be a starter due to stamina issues. I would like to see us sign a natural left footed flying winger though. We have lacked that for a long time now.

    Given a lot of respinsibilty wrongly in my opinion. I think it's wrong for the team to continually rely on a player who is very hit and miss. At times he looks very average, league cup game v hearts last year he was dreadful but yet we continued to rely on him when his decision making and final ball were nothing short of abysmal,

    IMO replacing him with a less spectacular but much more consitent player will give greater balance to the team and make us a much better attacking threat.

    For example if you were to sell him for 8m and then spent the money to build a new midfield like;

    Brown/McGinn Gomis. Bullard. Driver/Riordan

    IMO it would improve our attacking options greatly.

    In an ideal world Maloney would get himself fully fit and could play 45 games a season as he is a better player than McGeady IMO; much better end product, decision making and goal ratio

    mcginn doesn't quite have the pace people give him credit for, he's not great at crossing the ball and he hasn't developed into a finisher so yeah i think he's a perfect replacement

    Totally agree, thoses 2 would be great additions on the wings, good delivery from both open play and from set pieces! Also think they wouldn't be pushed aside as easily as McGeady in an Old Firm game, Conway in particular would just give a bit more bit bit in the midfield!

    I dont know the situation at Man City regarding Martin Petrov if he is out of favour or long term injured but i think he is a rare player ,wether Celtic could afford him i dont know.

    McCourt will never replace McGeady. Get real folks. Hes not a young guy and struggles to finish 90 minutes. His fitness isn't up to it.

    It would have to be a real rabbit out the hat. Nobody in our current team looks quite the same level (had hopes for both McGinn and McCourt). I still think Mcginn if he upped his game a little might just be an able replacement (he is more direct) but McCourt just can't last the pace.

    What complicates things further is how injury prone Maloney has been. If we were to lose McGeady NOW, our current first choice wingers would be McGinn/Samaras I believe, with McCourt and Caddis as back up. Maybe even Zheng Zhi.
