When Adrian Durham said 'Jerome Rothen will make McGeady look like a conference player' little did he know that it would Aiden McGeady who would make McGeady look like a conference player.

 

that comment has came back to haunt me i think i maybe defencing the undefencable

 

he is one of those players who seems like our best player on the surface but the team would actually be better and more successful without. When Wim came in that was the end for most of our star players - Van Hoijdonk, Cadette, Di Canio, Thom, McStay, Collins etc and they were replaced mainly by less high profile relatively cheap players. The difference is the new guys Wim brought in were team players who would run through a brick wall to win. Team players with a winning mentality. We were a far better TEAM minus the stars. They beat the same team all the stars had failed to in the previous couple of seasons. Following this logic I think we must get rid of Aidan and Fortune who are not team players. Maybe Sammy too but at least he has a great attitude. I think Kamara is another one of these individualistic luxury players too.

 

Hear, hear. He leads the team in assist and has contributed six goals, he's one of the few players on the current team with the ability to excite the fans and baffle defenders. Not to mention he's Celtic through and through. All that rubbish about him yelling at fans, try and put yourself in his position, when people yell at you do you just sit there and take it? There is nothing in his contract that says he has to be best mates to the fans who are swearing at him. Keep him unless a ridiculous bid in the range of 12-15 million is made.

Well well! It's about time that the supporters woke up and smelled the coffee! Aiden McGreedy has got to be THE most-overrated player we have ever had..He has not developed as a player, his attitude stinks, he is not a team player, thinks he is *'s gift...oh aye and he's *! All this talk about him carrying the team..WHEN? i have never seen him play 3 good games in a row. Get him to *!!!

 

Best for both if he wasn't here next season.

He has ran his course at celtic and now thinks he is the great player that we all expect him to be,ranting at fans proves to me that he is of the opinion that he has a case for his defence, which is just utter bollocks, he deserves a slagging along with the rest of the clowns and should be able to take it the way Keane, Samaras and Lennon did.

Its time for our so called wonderkid to move on so we can move forward.

Away and watch the start of the season again up until October when Maloney got injured! He along with McGeady were our best players and there and we actually went down hill when he got injured because the balance hasnt been right ever since!

As for who is the best player... i like a player who is more effective, not just good to watch! McGeady is a far more skilful player and better to watch but in terms of being effective i always ask myself this:

1) Who is the more intelligent player with a football brain?

2) Who has a final ball more often?

3) Who is the biggest goal threat?

For me these are the most important aspects for their position and id challenge anyone to have McGeady as their answer for any of the questions!

 

Never? What about his player of the year season? Its actually funny how alot of people go on about him always being injured and then say how they can't wait for Hooiveld to get back! Why does this guy not get the stick Maloney does for never being fit? He has been here for nearly 4 months and he has played 1 and a half games! Could also talk about Paddy McCourt here aswell, everyone loves him and he can't even last half a game!

 

McGeady gets praise because when he IS on top of his game......he's a fantastic player, but the thing is he doesn't produce it anywhere near enough times as he should. Maybe 3 or 4 times a season where he's on top-form beating every player, scoring goals etc. The other times he's either average or just simply awful, and we can't afford to have a guy who rarely shines in the team every week hoping that he's on form today.

 

Im sick of debating about McGeady...

Never has a player divided the fans so much, great players do not divide fans, they unite them in praise.

There are guys on here saying they will be happy with £8M etc... Thats never happening.

McGeady is a threat to other teams when we are on the ascendancy, usually at Celtic park and winning by a few goals and the game starts to open up....... then you see McGeady!

He has never done it in the old firm games or in Europe, and worse of all, is posted missing at the majority of hard fought away games in the SPL.

There has been no improvement in 5/7 years of him breaking into the side, absolutely NONE!

Final ball is absurd at times, plays like a school boy, holding onto the ball for far to long, rarely a goal threat, never tracks back, hopeless in the air, cant tackle.... the list goes on!

In the game now, you have to have a wok ethic, its imperative. The most productive top level players have a great work ethic, as well as being ball players.

Physically he is not the best. Can you imagine him against more physical defenders, taller, quicker, better readers of the game, week in week out in the premiership.

For 2 years now he has been found out and found wanting in the SPL, how and why does anyone think this boy is a player who could warrant an £8M pound transfer fee from any EPL team....

This boy splits opinion within our support - again, great players do not have this effect.

Your Larssons, Petrovs, Suttons, Lubo's etc... did not, this boy is not in that class!

 

I would like to see him go now. His attitude to the game, the club and the fans is apalling. He is an arrogant little * and not as good as he thinks he is. If we get offered a decent price for him, i hope we take it and watch him get shown up in the Premiership.

Now thats theres a bit of hype from england etc hes egg his final ball is * he doesnt look interested and hes the cockyest * in the world please.

no1 can say we havent giving himthe backing weve chanted his name for two seasons now and hes done nothing.

 

A didnt understand why mcgeady didnt get taken off on satuday he was 1 of the worse players that day and for me mcgeady doesnt cut it anymore simply because every1 knows his style of play get him to *.

 

I think he's still one of the better players in the squad, i'd certainly rather have him in my side than against me. Personally i think he just needs a manager who can motivate him the right way.

 

So you think he needs a manager to get motivated to play for Celtic ???

Or motivated to actually play football for whoever and earn £20,000 per week.

Why are you so focused in getting rid of one player?

I know for a fact I would want to keep mcgeady before fortune n,guemo brown, samaras etc...


The fact you are having a go at people for saying they want to keep him screams out personal vendetta to me.
