I thought McGeady was our only decent player v well and looks like he is the latest whipping boy.

He's just one of these guys that becomes an instant scapegoat when a poor team performance comes around.

    Ridiculous post

The reasons for the support stating they would take the money for him, and the critisism recieves, are all within this thread.

And I would say the reasons for taking the money, and critisisng McGeady far outweigh the reasons guys like yourselfs cherry pick performances from 4/5 years ago, then state we make him a scapegoat and a whipping boy!

I fully admit there are players in that squad who should go before him, but as previously stated, he is 1 of 3 assets, who we can expect to recieve money on.

Well funnily enough I would say they don't.

All I here is the repeated mob-mentality statements that get panned around like 'one-trick pony'. Amazing how often that one trick pony skins the full back.

I see you've carefully disregarded questions directed at you earlier and returned to this cherry-picking myth of yours.

I've already given several examples of good performances from Aiden over the last couple of seasons both in the OF and in Europe. I think I've mentioned one game from 4/5 years ago and that was milan at CP.

It's not a ridiculous post, the entire team was mince on Saturday and I said after the game I would put money on an Aiden thread appearing afterwards.

It happens after every defeat on here.

Common scapegoat, with the same people on here after every poor performance.

I would say a ridiculous statement is calling rating a consistently good player 'a sad enditement' of some of our fans.

    My * Man

A consistently good player... Are you being serious.... ???

Not for 1 minute have I said other than that whole side where attrocious on saturday, and I dont think I brought McGeadys performance up after saturday, its been his complete inconsistancy over the past 2 seasons, his poor poor final ball, and his failure to deliver time after time...

Sorry mate, skinning the fullback as you put it does not constitute a top player or give reasons enough to back McGeady

    100% serious.

I've already gave my reasons why I rate him and no one has given me a decent answer to the contrary.

I had a season ticket for years up until last season and he was the one player I genuinely always looked forward to watching on a Saturday.

Eventually the guy will go and I can't wait until he rams peoples jibes down their throats in a better league.

He's a great wee player and mob mentality will never convince me otherwise.

We're not gonna agree here, so let's leave it there.

    Let's assess McGeady's attributes for a winger:

    Dribbing: Excellent

Shooting: Terrible (Vast majority of shots stay on the ground with little power)

    Crossing: Below average

    Passing: Average

    Decision making: Terrible

    Fair analysis I think.

    All of them

Id agree his shooting isn't his strongest attribute, but you cant call it terrible since he's scored 6 this season and look at his 2 crackers at Pittodrie in separate games this season and his postage stamp strike at Fir Park.

I've already covered his crossing earlier in this thread. The ball goes in the box every time he beats the full back, below average to me would mean most go in the stand, hit the 1st defender or go out of play, which isn't the case.

He plays the odd stray pass admittedly but he's just as likely to thread one through to a striker.

Decision making? Just don't get this one at all. If he beats the full back he crosses it, if he cuts inside he shoots. Simple. Its another banded around phrase that has caught fire on here.

For some reason or another dude, you are blinded by MCGeady... And you wont change!

Just tally up the stats you put to us against McCourt, makes for good reading for a guy who has started less than a handful of games.

Is final ball is hopeless mate, I cant believe you are still insisting differently

So because you and your chums throw around a few circa McGeady-hater phrases I should change my opinion?

Its not blindness mate its having an opinion on a player, I've not come on and said 'jist cos he's pure brilliant man', I've given constructed reasons.

I've watched him with my own eyes for 5-6 seasons and he's a smashing wee player that entertains me.

A few posts back in this thread the stats didn't prove anything, now they fit in with your point it appears they do.

Good on him for gettin 6 goals and 10 assists though with a hopeless final ball in a * poor season for the team :50:

6? For a guy that has so many shots on goal and always gets a start that's pretty poor. He should be scoring at least 12 goals per season IMO. He just doesn't score enough goals, not scored in 32 appearances for ROI either.

I don't rate his crossing at all, he overhits them out of play way too often to be considered a decent crosser of the ball.

His decision making is awful in the sense he doesn't know what to do with the ball a lot of the time (and ends up doing nothing and losing possession).
